  2. Per the NYT’s playoff simulator, the Bengals have a 76% chance of making the playoffs if we win our remaining 5 games. It’s unlikely we can make it as a wild card, seeing that multiple teams would need to implode weeks 13-18. Therefore, our best bet of making the playoffs is for us to win the AFC North 76% means probably and is not undue optimism. It’s based on data. It’s fine if you don’t believe it. Go to the simulators and you will see.
  3. It'll depend on the details, the guarantee, how much is backloaded or front loaded, etc. I think it'll work out well for them. I hadn't realized he's only 30.
  4. Yeah, I think a lot of Bernard's bad play comes down to him being dinged up and to DL problems when the injuries get bad. Still think Shaq should play right now, though.
  5. Geez!! Interesting! I like the bracket you came up with. KC could beat New England, and we'd get the home game, and Los Angeles probably will beat Jax, another home game if we played them. I don't mind this at all. Though it'd be a ton better if we won the division, of course. I wouldn't like playing Cincy away, but if we lose the division it's not that bad out of all the other possible results. And - admitting that it's still way early to try this exercise - I don't think I'd have many differences.
  6. He's still a good player but not a great player anymore. If we could get him on a discount I'd be okay with it Anderson could be a special olineman for us
  7. Me too. Wait. What?
  8. Maybe knows a bit about our defensive playbook from having seen us on Sunday. Won't know much about our offensive playbook though, except for two plays.

  10. don't forget TJ Graham and Rob Johnson
  11. People can get hit by cars when crossing the road. Doesn’t mean it’s likely people will get hit by a car crossing the road. I just took a random list from NFL.com. Two of Twenty five players have never played in the championship. Most have not only played but won and multiple times. Allen would get added to the list as he will certainly be on it one day if McD and lil Baller keep it up. Citing anomalies as evidence and hand picking players to do so isn’t evidence. https://www.nfl.com/news/top-25-quarterbacks-of-all-time-patriots-tom-brady-leads-list-0ap3000001035041
  12. He hasn't got worse but Seattle always knew what they had - the ultimate one trick pony. Pittsburgh have tried to use him in more diverse ways and he can't do it. He can run downfield in straight lines very quickly. That's it. However that is the thing the Bills can't do and need....
  13. Watson is washed. At best they might surprise someone for a bit running a different type of offense or something.
  14. Using dumb ESPN's playoff simulator, I ran through the last five weeks of the season without thinking too much, just picking each game as objectively as I could. Here was the result (only took me a couple minutes): I hate it a lot, tbh. So many bad matchups for the Bills. In my simulation, for what it's worth, the Bills lose the next two and then win the last three. I really hope that isn't what actually transpires, but going 3-2 the rest of the way IS reasonable. Could also see arguments for going 4-1, which would have interesting ramifications. for the rest of the AFC. What bracket do YOU come up with after picking the last five weeks of the season? (I tried not to think about any future implications when picking. And I tried to apply an ugly level of objectivity.)
  15. The Eagles put in a claim for him also. The Bills won out due to their lower standing.
  16. So no one (especially the OP) has worked out even one simulation of how the AFC bracket would progress for Buffalo's "playoff run" beginning with a road win against the Ravens? What are the other 2 matchups during the WC round? Any other road warrior upsets? (Which would mean Buffalo does NOT travel to the top seed for Divisional round.) Could all three WC teams win on the road, given the leaguewide parity? (Which would mean Buffalo hosts #6 AND THEN either travels to #1 or hosts #7 for the AFCCG.) How does the AFC seeding shake out after week 18?
  17. This was inevitable and predictable. What's hilarious is that the Browns, possibly more than any franchise aside from the Jets, can't get the QB position right and now they have the two most divisive, controversial QBs in the NFL on the same roster. You can't make this stuff up.
  18. Really hoping he gets a few reps vs the bungals
  19. Great list! I’d add Bruce sacking Montana against the Chiefs in the AFCCG, too.
  20. Pff… what do they know? And what do the Eagles know. A really knowledgeable poster said that Slay was washed, so I’m sticking with that.
  21. When I asked ai it said 95 %... So maybe I'm wrong. My mistake. I think the ai is going by favorites in isolation of a given outcome So if you isolated Cleveland & the jets as wins already. The algorithm is probably going to say it's x % likely you'll win 1 of those other 3, then calculates the other favorites and that's why AI says buffalo is 95% probability if they just beat Cincinnati ( in that moment) or you already give 10 wins with Cleveland and the jets. There's probably somebody here more competent in stats/ probability that can explain it better than me here I played with the machine for about 20 minutes. Just gave wins for the jets and browns, and there was a couple games before week 18, and one week 18 game that kept Buffalo out. Beating KC , Steelers & Ravens was critical based on how the bracket came out. The KC game was way bigger than I realized at the time given how things unfolded. Gotta wonder if the bills staff saw the bracket at the time and saw how bigger that game was. They seemed highly prepared mentally But KC doesn't care and is holding stuff back in the regular season according to Matt verderame and nick wright so I understand why they lost 😂
  22. Benford started out the season like a guy who had a concussion hangover from last season but his game has been picking up. Against Tampa Bay he traveled with star rookie Emeka Ugboka who only managed 5 catches for 40 yards on 9 targets. The next week he traveled with Nico Collins who had just 3 catches for 55 yards. Of course against the Steelers he had a great game against both the pass and the run and deservedly won the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award with the scoop and score, the INT, and holding DK Metcalf to 3 catches for 32 yards on 5 targets. If you're being honest, Benford's been playing great lately and is peaking at the right time. Also Tre's had a solid season and Hairston has most Bills fans excited by his incredible athleticism. The acquisition of Slay gives the Bills excellent depth at a position where they've historically had epidemic injuries in the playoffs. In weeks 9 and 10 playing for Taron Johnson, Cam played very well and looked better than Taron had looked all season to that point. Amen. You're trying to improve everywhere, all the time. He was running those patterns for the receivers. It looks like his film study is exceptional. He knew what the receivers were doing before they were doing it. One half.
