Does the placement of the bye week really matter?
mannc replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
Makes very little difference. Some teams that get late byes are already all but eliminated, so the bye does them no good at all. -
Now you’re shifting the goalposts.

So some of the things that I always look for in a schedule are: - Are there any international games? I'd honestly rather forfeit them than have our players go overseas and play on subpar fields where all our stars get injured for great lengths of time, like Milano and Daquan Jones in England a couple years back. Not to mention the long travel, sleep issues, and oftentimes losing a home game to the international game. Screw those games. I'm glad we don't have any this year. - Are there back-to-back away games? Or even worse? I've been told that the travel can really take a toll on players when you get 2 or 3 games in a row that are all away. So I look for games like this. This year, we have two pairs of back-to-back games. That's not very favorable, in my opinion. Especially when you consider KC who, despite all their traveling to the AFC South and NFC East, don't actually have ANY back-to-back away games. I find that to be complete BS, and favoring KC. They DO have two away games in a row, but there is a bye between when they play us, and when they play the Broncos, week 9-11 - Do the Dolphins have many heat stroke games? Not really. They have the Patriots at home at 1 pm Week 2, and the Chargers (who are used to the heat) Week 6, but until we play them on 11/09 at 1 pm in Week 10, all of their other games are either away or at night. That means that they won't be able to use their stadium's unfair advantage THAT much this year, like last year. Two years ago, when they had a BUNCH of heat stroke games, they had a good record, but most of them came in the beginning of the season. Last year, they didn't, and finished below 0.500. I expect the same thing from them this year. - Lastly, (and this requires a bit more digging into the schedule) what teams have extra rest coming into games with us, and which games do we have extra rest? And are they important games? This is where we REALLY get screwed this year. Just like we ALWAYS seem to get screwed. The games this year are: Falcons have a bye before they play us on Monday night (+7 days rest) Dolphins play on TNF before we play in Miami, AND it's right after the Chiefs game (+3 days rest) Bengals play on TNF before we play them (+3 days rest) Patriots have a bye before we play them in NE (+7 days rest) Eagles play on Friday before our matchup (+2 days rest) The advantages we get: TNF before playing the Saints (+3 days rest) Bye before playing the Panthers (+7 days rest) Chiefs are on MNF the week before we play them (+1 days rest) TNF before we play the Steelers (+3 days rest) That's a full week of net extra rest other teams have coming into games than the Bills do this season. Not only that, four of the five games in which the opponents get more rest are games which I would consider to be huge games (Dolphins, Bengals, Patriots, Eagles - two divisional rivals, a playoff contender, and the Super Bowl Champs). We only have 1-2 big games (Chiefs, Steelers) in which we have the same advantage, and one of those is only an extra day of rest against the Chiefs. The other is against the Steelers, and I'm not sure how big of a game that will be. They seem destined to be mediocre year after year recently. You're not going to convince me that the Falcons, Saints, or Panthers, non-conference games against mediocre at best competition, are huge games for us. So overall, I'm rather unhappy about this schedule. I appreciate the no overseas games and the Dolphins not getting too many unfair advantages by attempting to kill their opponents with climate change. But beyond that, I'm not seeing TOO MUCH to be happy about. Just like every year, the NFL screws us over with net rest, and I can't remember when the Bills last had a season without back-to-back away games.

Weird, I guess I'm in the minority. I thought it was their worst one yet, and not on par with some of the other teams efforts. I guess the AI fell flat for me when the guy couldn't even muster a Go Bills😂 I mean why bother with a guy not even a fan of the team?🤦♂️

After an 0-3 preseason many on this board will be wringing their hands and forecasting a 9-8 regular season. -

I always like to see it later - just because more injuries happen as the season moves along, and having that week later in the season gives injured players time to heal. -
When Opulence Isn’t Enough: A Pig’s Lament
Andy1 replied to Homelander's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The Constitution prohibits federal officials from accepting things of value, or “emoluments,” from foreign governments without congressional approval. “This is a classic example of what the founders worried about,” said Richard Painter, a law professor at the University of Minnesota and former White House ethics chief under Bush. “But I don’t think the founders anticipated it would get this bad.” In his second term, Trump’s family business has been very busy overseas. In December, it struck a deal for two Trump-branded real estate projects in Riyadh with a Saudi firm that two years earlier it had partnered with for a Trump golf resort and villas in Oman. And in Qatar, the Trump Organization announced last month another Trump branded resort along the coast. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/will-the-new-air-force-one-be-secure-qatars-gift-to-trump-raises-questions#:~:text=The two planes currently used, design of his personal plane. Does everyone here think there is no ethical conflict with Trump and family and the Saudis or Qatars? For all the justifiable outrage about Hunter Biden, republicans just ignore Trump and family deals. What a cult. Rule #1: You can never criticize the Great Orange Leader. -
This. There are a couple of lots but it’s nothing to write home about. Better off pre-gaming at a bar.

Buffalo Bills 2025 Regular Season Schedule
Aussie Joe replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lot of people saying the schedule looks “easy” this year… probably the time it will turn out harder than anticipated.. the opposite to the last couple of years … The Division teams are going to stand up eventually.. -
We’d like a full report on future Bills upon your return

Oh, Geez. You’ve just created a dilemma for me. My wife has already booked the hotel rooms and rental car for the opener, and she just keeps inviting family members! When she learned what ticket prices look like now she slowed down. Thank God for that! We will also be attending the “home game” (for us) in Atlanta. I thought that was my Bills schedule for the year, but my wife is from Rock Hills, SC, basically a suburb just south of Charlotte. She has a ton of family in the area. I’ve never seen an NFL game in Charlotte. If it’s anything close to the Nashville experience, I want to see it with my wife. I’ve been to I think 4 games in Nashville (nearby and my son lived there) but my wife never got to see that amazing scene. Tempting.

Buffalo Bills 2025 Regular Season Schedule

Man, the Patriots schedule is easy as pie. Could be a December fight for the division. For the 1st time in years, I don't think we can take any games for granted. -
Tavern is where to go the night before Tailgating sucks in Charlotte.

Those two groups combine for about 500k in the US in total. How about we discuss the rest of the 20 million just over the past 4 years. so you now tell me what qualifies someone as a good refugee in your book? Why are violent gang members allowed in during the past 4 years? https://www.pewresearch.org/race-and-ethnicity/fact-sheet/asian-americans-burmese-in-the-u-s/ https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2017/02/us/somali-minnesota-photos/

You won't know how much it matters until it happens. If you have a lot of injuries, a bye let will help a bunch. -

I'm not saying Douglas and Henry are the same caliber of player. The difference between Douglas hitting the wall and Henry hitting the wall is that Douglas doing so equates to being completely toast and out of the league - wherein Henry losing a step would still have him as a servicable RB. But your argument is he'll still be the force he was last year for up to two years. I think that's a pretty big gamble to take. He definitely doesn't have to "get comfy with 12m at the max". If Josh Jacobs is at 12m and 29 year old Alvin Kamara is at 12.5 - he will easily surpass that. Derrick Henry will be 32 in the Playoffs this season. That's why he's making 15m instead of 21m like Barkley. You know that there's much more that goes into contract value than stats and performance. If Cook hits the market next offseason after another season like last year, I would bet you Dollars to Donuts he's exceeding 12m and probably by more than a couple million.
