I saw somewhere that McD took over the Defensive play calling in the 2nd half.....is this true?? The Defense was markedly better in the 2nd half compared to the 1st, and he has done the play calling takeover before when Frazier was DC. This got me to thinking.....why doesn't McD call the Defensive plays full time?? All the Offensive minded Head Coaches call their own Offensive plays(Reid, MacVay, Shanahan, even loser Mike McDaniel), so doesn't it stand to reason that a Defensive minded coach should be calling the Defense?? Maybe he should put the Defense in his own hands for a while to see if this would make a difference.

For me, they are way too thick and heavy. I can fight through one slice and I feel like I gained 20 pounds.

Bills are Super Bowl Favorites

You are spot on. YE OLE has not been a fire McDermott guy, like many here, but this has been a hallmark of his teams. It even predates Josh. The 2017 team that broke the drought went on that streak where they gave up 135 points over 3 games and looked like the worst team in the league by a mile. It’s like clockwork gents… the defense blows, Josh looks slow and we speculate he has an injury, the offense can’t move the ball, we call some stupid trick plays that blow up in our face, etc. In a few weeks Josh will resume throwing lasers and running away from everyone, the defense will ascend to some form of mediocrity, and we will win a bunch of games by a wide margin. -
Nico Collins is a Pipe Dream. Might as well start talking about Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson if you're talking about Nico Collins. He's a 26 year old stud #1 WR that they signed to a 3 yr, 73m extension just last year. They lost Diggs and Dell. He's far and away the most important part of their Offense and they don't have much else. He isn't going anywhere. Just bc the Texans aren't winning right now doesn't mean they're going to tear things down like teams like the Saints.

Been tired of that since Frazier implemented it. All those wanting Frazier back need to remember that. All I see from it is our defense being worn down faster playing chase for about 60 yards hoping for a turnover and putting more pressure on the offense

I think we all know what's going to happen. ......

It was the first time we ever in our history gave up 150 yards to a RB and a WR in the same game. Its historically bad.

10/13/2025 Bills at Falcons - Post game thread

Which probably was going to involve Palmer more because he can at least get separation according to Joe Marino. And then Palmer went down on the 2nd series, so there goes that plan. Meanwhile, doesn’t seem like Shavers is anywhere near being on the same page as Josh, and Keon is just blanketed all day. -
Plausible X/#1 receiver trade candidates — are there any?

Unfortunately it’s true. -
Letting Edmunds walk was the right move. Especially since he wanted to test Free Agency and we'd have had to match or beat the offer Chicago made. Drafting his replacement in Bernard in the 3rd Round was the right move. Signing Edmunds' replacement to a long term deal, paying Bernard decent money was the *wrong move*. With how Bernard regressed in 2024 and how he's playing in 2025, the right move was to save that cap and Draft Bernard's replacement, like we did with Edmunds. It's insane to me after taking a step back last year that they rushed to extend him before they had to. I'd have definitely waited on seeing how his 2025 went. His play since 2024 is not difficultly replaced. Middle Linebacker is not a premium position. You can find a top MLB prospect without spending a 1st. Very possible you could have upgraded with a 2nd or 3rd and kept some money for upgrades elsewhere.

Finally, analysis that matters.

First, the defense is better than the offense the past couple of games. Second, your conclusion doesn't follow from the premise, IMO. It's understood within the framework of deferring to double dip at the half that the other team having the ball first is valuable to them and potentially consequential. It's a tradeoff. A reasonable one, IMO. Um, not at all. The first half puts your team ahead, or behind. It frames the second half. It's very very very meaningful.

I thought he'd come out in shades in the 2nd half

Two losses and the mob with torches and pitch forks come out. Reality check. This team is in transition. In flux of defensive talent was the focus. There are growing pains with young talent. NOW the whole thing went awry with injuries in the preseason and continue to this day. This seems to be a problem with the strength and conditioning program. Second observation is the OC has been the reason the offense is sputtering. Rely on the best players. Cook is playing only half the snaps. Where is the RBs in the passing attack? The trick plays he dials up has a poor track record. When injuries hit the WR corps, he is slow to alter his play calling and personnel usage. Brady has the offense riding a roller coaster. The DC is over his head and seems to have no solutions to the decimated secondary and porous run defense. These are problems that need to be addressed. IMO the soft zone is making opponents WRs look spectacular. Beane has to reassess how he and McD are building the roster. Overall, once they get healthy this team can dominate. The players are the ones who have to play smart, not make unforced errors, execute the plays as designed and perform to a high standard. This crew has been disappointing, to me, this whole season. Sorry about venting but this is my opinion. Have a great bye week. GO out and enjoy Sunday with family and friends. GO BILLS.
