So as of right now Stafford and Maye are still the favorites over Allen although Allen closed a big gap today, Odds wise.

 

When it comes to MVP the only thing that matters is what the Odds are at the Sports Book, that will tell you every year who will win it. 

 

When Allen won, Lamar was the favorite all the way up to the announcement... the Odds are a good guide but itʻs not a sure shot

Actually, i believe Allen was the favorite when the season ended which was when the votes were cast. The odds only changed to Lamar being the favorite when he was named 1st team all pro. They even took the MVP odds off the board at that point because they were so heavily in Lamar's favor.

How about this scenario...

 

Seahawks win the NFC West (beat the Rams at home on a short week this week)

Patriots lose to the Ravens but win their final two against the Jets and Dolphins to win the East

Bills win out.

 

Who wins MVP in that scenario? I have a hard time believing Maye wins MVP while finishing 2-2 down the stretch including being thoroughly outplayed by Allen down the stretch.

Yea, Allen was the heavy favorite with about 3 weeks left last year. Lamar closed the gap towards the end of the season, but Josh was still the favorite after week 18. 

 

Every reputable sports book stopped accepting bets on MVP after the regular season ended, but Polymarket was still accepting bets. Polymarket had their odds shift to Lamar as favorite after he was named first team All-Pro.

I agree. I see the MVP as an individual award, someone who elevates the team around him. Stafford at this moment because Allen has heated up now. If he continues that performance and we win out as a result of that, Josh should inch ahead

I think Josh took drake maye with him today and it will be Stafford no contest.  Josh has got voter fatigue working against him even if we win the division and staffords got the old man never won an mvp feel good story.  They’re tied in total touchdowns too so not a big enough edge there to overcome those other two things

Even if we win out and it's mostly due to Josh, unless we're at least division winners, he won't get it. They almost always give it to the QB of one of the #1 seeds and when they don't, it goes to a 2 seed. Never to a wild card team (at least not for a long time back).

I think the way the MVP is voted on now may have been permanently changed after last year by Josh winning it and not being 1st team all pro. If so, I am glad because to me they are two completely different awards, MVP and All-Pro. All-Pro should be a strictly stat based award.

 

MVP should be a combination of stats, SOS, "big moments/games", overall record and of course, value to your team compared to the rest of the league.

 

If neither Stafford or Allen win the division one of them should still be MVP over Drake Maye.

I sure as Hell hope he has.. he deserves consideration.. but the back to back MVP votes is a tough ask.. only 5 other players have done it.. It’s a very interesting season for multiple teams.

I am going to take back my comment that Allen has "no chance" as a wildcard. But there are two things that MUST happen for him to have a chance. 

 

Rams have to lose their division. If they win on Thursday the MVP race is officially over. Done. 

 

Bills have to win out. If they don't, that means he either lost to the Browns/Jets, or lost to Phi at home in a Nationally televised game. 

 

If those two things happen he wins IMO. But it's a longshot.

I don’t care what anyone says. You take away Stafford and the rams are still a good team. Take away Allen we are a four win team. What else do you have to do to win it? He’s clearly the best QB on the planet. I seriously doubt any other QB active today can do what Allen does! Not even close!!!!
