ColoradoBills Posted yesterday at 12:07 AM Posted yesterday at 12:07 AM Rivers had a weird season 5 years ago with the Colts. Won a lot of games BUT boy was he slow in the pocket and his arm strength was really weakening. This ought to be interesting. 2 Quote

Hope he wills the colts to the playoffs over the Texans or Jags 2 1 Quote

I can’t imagine what it must feel like to take a hit in an NFL game after being away from the field for so long. This Rivers business is bonkers, gents! Setting aside all of the off field issues with Deshaun Watson, after not having played a game for 2 years, he looked completely out of place on an NFL field. It’s truly unbelievable to think Rivers at age 44 not having played a game in 5 years is going to play again. Rivers arm strength was looking significantly deteriorated 5 years ago when he was 39. It’s hard to imagine what this could look like. 1 Quote

I don't think Rivers will be very effective if he has to chuck it down the field. I'm not seeing another Flacco here. I can't imagine why they would go with the 44 year old grandpa who hasn't played in years, over calling up Brett Rypien from the practice squad. Yeah, that's the weird thing. Good defense and a good run game and even Brett Rypien - who is a pretty bad backup after all - might steal you a couple wins. Having said that: it gives me a reason to watch the Colts. The older I get, the more I appreciate stories like this. 1 Quote

I really dont know what I weigh now... LOL 2 Quote
Roundybout Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago This is misinformation. He’s 100% throwing the rock 48 times tomorrow like he’s still got Antonio Gates out there. Quote

SirAndrew Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Retired NFL QB’s have become like musicians. The check is always big enough to lure them out of retirement, even if they should stay retired. What middle aged guy isn’t going to find an excuse to escape the house. 1 Quote

NFL quarterbacks are elite athletes, you can’t be on the couch for 5 years and just throw the pads back on. Even if he’s not on the couch, there’s a point where you can’t do this at an NFL level. There are middle aged guys in better shape than twenty somethings, but in the NFL you’re competing against the elite who also happen to be twenty years younger. Quote

Yes! And he sounds like the guy that would never shut up the whole time he's cooking the burgers. Quote
DapperCam Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I’m thinking if he does play he will basically be a game manager. Hand the ball off, and throw the 2 or 3 throws he’s still comfortable making. I’d expect 15 passing attempts for the entire game. Nothing down the field unless it’s a go route. No routes where he has to stand in the pocket and wait. Quote
