The Steelers stink against the pass ... We don't have our Tackles ... We'll try and run the ball today just to fool them.

 

Hopefully Josh doesn't take another beating like last week.

Bosa has a matching wrist injury as well so it's a wash. I wish Morgan Fox were playing just for something different.

- good set of players to step up and stomp the squealers.

 

yes a half dozen backups will be playing, but they are good enough to be pro football players - now a chance to shine.

 

and the new WR to add a wrinkle.

 

looking forward to seeing them come together as a team greater than the sum of the parts - what McDermott is supposed to be the guru at.

 

and Babich, Brady and Tabor - it is now crunch time - show creativity and out coach your opponent!

Funny you mention this. I have thought on a few occasions that I heard takes and bits done by those on the radio that I previously read in here in TBD.

Well, Brown and Tasker work for the team so they will be supporters for sure; frankly it's kind of a refreshing take after spending time in the TBD dungeon for sure. 

 

Many of Marino's takes have been wrong in the past year or so.    eg. He hated the Deone Walker draft choice for example and has been dead wrong.   His game calls have been more wrong than right.  He confuses his analysis with his fandom.   He's Schopp one day and Tasker the next.

Brown is pretty annoying. (Tasker is more like a golden retriever). I get that Brown works for them but geesh tone it down a bit and stop screaming as if every play is the Super Bowl.

The problem with Joe Marino has never been with Joe himself. The problem is that a core group of people treat his opinions (and that's all they are...his opinions) as the gospel truth. People really no longer have the ability or desire to think for themselves on a large scale these days. He spoon feeds them their opinions. How many replies on this very forum start out with the phrase "Well, Joe Marino says..." like that's some kind of end all to the argument. 

 

Marino makes a lot of valid statements and opinions. He also offers up clunkers. He states the exact same things we see and read here.

I was going to say the same thing. His podcasts (I've only heard a few) seem like mashups of the discussions on this forum, conventional wisdom on Coleman, the wide-receiver corps, the run defense, Brady, McDermott... I didn't hear any fresh insights or observations. I come here for news and analysis, although I like Greg Cosell and one or two others. But I'm glad to be told I'm wrong. Does anyone have recent examples of Marino commentary they found valuable?

I remember lots of classic Van Miller calls where he nailed the importance and the emotion of the moment.  I never remember his voice cracking constantly because he was yelling so loud the mic was distorting. Murph used to do it too. Unlistenable.
