Josh Allen should call the Offensive Plays

Whether or not QB's calling plays is the optimal strategy is not really what the OP put forward as a the question. The actual question is would Allen call a better game than Brady.  Since the Brady bar is so low, it is quite possible Allen would call a better game. But he would still be saddled with Brady's below average play design capabilities.

That Madden video in other threads suggest that we currently only run 5 offensive plays in any case, no problemo, arise OC Josh Allen. Brady demoted to waterboy.

Just get a better OC with a better scheme,couple better WR and make Josh learn and execute the system

Regardless of the fact that this is non- existent in the current NFL, there has to be a lot of range as to the frequency of audibles among the QBs.  Some do quite a bit, some not that much.  

Advantages if JA Calls all the plays:

Josh has a feel for the flow of the game and what works and doesn't work with the 11 on the field at the time.  

The frustration from calls he disagrees with would be eliminated. 

Joe Brady can focus on developing a game plan for the opponent and sideline management.  

His standing as a team leader would be reinforced. 

He knows this team better than anyone.  

He would be super motivated and a motivated JA is a wonerful thing to see. 

He has earned it.

What I do know is that Brady should not be calling plays.  Dude is cooked.  That Houston game should be his end.

I may be getting old , but when I see Brady in the box, he looks like he's surrounded by his beer pong posse that may or may not have, after the Bucs game, been too out of sorts to develop a game plan for the upcoming week. Like the schedule caught everyone off guard.....lol

I think asking them to be ready to have the right play ready 5 seconds after they've just processed the last play is just too much to ask in this era.

Giving them an extra option coming to the line is about the most you should ask of them at this point, imo.

As much as I feel for Jethro looking for some answer on Brady’s delayed called plays, JA17 calling his own plays is not the answer.  I just wish McD would stop being stubborn on not bringing in Daboll in some capacity.  Brady is in over his head and Beane has not given Brady the horses in WRs for him to open things up.

Not only should Allen call most plays but they should go no huddle through large portions of the game, especially at home. This gives our receivers more ability to create separation and allow our embattled O-line to take advantage of rushers that are a little gassed. Naturally Brady can have input on certain down and distance and when we want to bleed clock things change.
