Daboll is not a HC material.  Have a friend who is a HUGE Giants fan.  He kept pointing out that Daboll was over his head in NY.   Great OC but HC?  I am not on board with that.

That same offense that everyone keeps saying is one of the best in the league.  I get they were playing the top defense in the NFL but it was another game they struggled to put up points in the 2nd half.

The roster is definitely an issue. They weren't that good last year either. The big reason they went to the Championship game was a lot went right for them. Josh with his MVP season and  the high amount of turnovers by the defense.

We aren't able to pressure opposing QB's.  That really stands out.

 

I'd love to add, "but at least we're stout against the run."

It's an offense that is among the best in the league when Allen is playing at an elite level.  The problem is NO QB in the history of the NFL can play at an elite level every week.  The Bills have chosen to not structure their roster to take full advantage of their uniquely gifted QB.  They have instead changed their offensive philosophy to compliment their defense while directing the lions share of resources to that defense.  Unfortunately they have failed at both efforts:  Their D is bad and they have not provided their MVP level QB with the weapons needed to fully exploit his skill set.

 

This is not rocket science and should be obvious to every Bills fans that's been paying attention to the last 6 years.  The alternative is to do what way to many Bills fans do:  nibble around at the edges of the problem by blaming injury's or Allen for not taking the easy completions.  Come on folks we know what the real problem is.

And this was made numbingly obvious on that game changing end of the half TD drive by the Texans.  We generated no pass rush while playing McD's famous soft prevent defense which made a back up QB look like Mahommes.

In a way, this game somewhat reminds me of the Week 4 2024 game at Baltimore.  Whereas Baltimore brought it on blitzes IIRC, last night it was from the entire Houston front-4.  Texans and Baltimore's coverage was tight although Buffalo's WRs couldn't separate in either game and Josh got knocked around each time.  

 

The following week at Houston was bad with Josh going something like 9 of 30 passing, which prompted the trade for Amari Cooper.

Im actually starting to get a feeling that Brady being fired isn’t impossible. I never would have expected that to be the case but I’m getting a feeling it could happen

This was the problem yet again. Our defense doesnt know how to force fumbles anymore. We never seem to want to smack out the ball but cannot wrap up either. Our soft zone rarely is close enough to get us INTs. Our easy to read defense doesnt disguise anything so we rarely get the misthrows by opposing QBs (like Allen's deflected INT last night). Hell our DBs never turn around in pass coverage to get INTs on underthrows either. All from a defensive coach??

I'm beyond angry, even after sleeping on it. For the second time in three games, what I saw was a team that would rather lose than play hard enough to meet the urgency of the moment. The Texans had their season on time line last night, and we didn't match their effort. If the team doesn't care, maybe I should stop caring, too.

This time, there is no in-house candidate to take over mid-season, and it is almost impossible to bring in someone from the outside who doesn't know the plays they are supposed to call. We're stuck, at least for this year.

I can't recall any team at this point in the season with a 7-4 record and a very good chance of making the playoffs firing their head coach, offensive coordinator, or defensive coordinator.  For everyone posting that they want one of those - all I can says is dream on.

Daboll + Kromer could absolutely do it, but I don’t think McDermott is friendly with Daboll anymore.

McDermott is not getting fired.

 

I would say very slight chance Brady does.

 

McDermott and Josh both basically called him out after last nights game, which isn't great for him.

 

I of course don't think he will if I had to bet , but I wouldn't rule it out

We are lacking the basics of blocking and tackling. So many whiffs on blocks. Also Houston tackled and wrapped up continuously. Us, on the other hand, were making contact and getting run through. Tons of missed tackles. Been seeing that all year.

Last night's game reminded me of the home night game against the Jets where plays were coming in late, the offense was totally out of sync and dysfunctional but hit a couple of explosives to make it look better than it was, the defense failed in big moments, and right afterwards Greg Roman was fired.  So it's not out of the question in my mind.

There will be changes this offseason, not buying the argument some make that we're going to run it back because of the new stadium.
