This defense led by a defensive minded coach is atrocious.  That being said on the interception James Cook is WIDE open for an easy first down and who knows what else after that.

 

Ive seen that way too much this year and I don’t know why

I've defended McDermott a long time but the only reasons why things aren't already out of hand are:

 

1) A backup QB missing wide open guys

2) A kickoff return TD

The 2nd level of this defense is a big issue. They used to be a strength of this football team but they are all becoming below average at a fast rate. They clearly aren’t going to dump Bernard but they need to upgrade Taron Johnson and Matt Milano next year with bigger, younger, faster players

If Stroud was in, we’d be down by at least 2 scores, maybe 3.
