There are teams who liked him in the draft and likely think he just doesn’t fit with Allen or is miscast outside. Im guessing they had to see Gabe get right and Keon was the insurance plan if he couldn’t? I would imagine it is possible they could have had him as part of a deal that didn't happen, but I highly doubt the Bills would want that info out there (as opposed to the info about almost getting Waddle which seemed like Beane wanted out there as a "hey, look, I tried" type of thing). He has basically no choice because of the spotlight on that room right now, especially with the ridiculous WGR rant and the buzz around the failed Waddle trade. It just sucks that it will have taken the worst case scenario coming to fruition for him to finally learn his lesson, and as a result we wasted a season where the AFC was weaker than ever. "IF"...c'mon man. How exactly is a top 5 GM moved on from? Missing the Playoffs, maybe?...And does anyone really think that is happening. Yes, I agree with some frustration over the WR position (I wanted DK Metcalf bad). I hope Beane finds an excellent WR1 - either by trade or FA (Pickens is a possibility although a slight head case). But Beane does have a choice, and his job is not in jeopardy, and the season hasn't been wasted, and it isn't over. So, yeah, like wow. Quote

But he is not a top 5 GM. He is one of the more overrated GMs in the league, and I’m sure by what he thinks of himself, extremely overrated. His drafts overall are average at best. Free Agent signings below average. Trades, other than Diggs, below average. Cap management, also average at best with all the mid to low dollar extensions he gives to average players that eat up so much of our cap. He is 10/10 at media manipulation and intimidation. He knows how to control and create narratives to his liking. The local media and some national media all give in to his bullying and charm. Maybe best GM in league at this. He is a arrogant conman. Mark my words. There are plenty of things to hold him accountable for and he's the easier replacement rather than McDermott. Quote

Beck Water Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) 4 hours ago, SCBills said: Beane should get a ton of credit for Josh Allen and building an elite OL with the help of Aaron Kromer. James Cook was a home run of a pick with the multiple trade downs and still getting one of the best RB’s in the league and then extending him on a somewhat team friendly contract compared to what Cook would get on the open market. After that, it goes downhill pretty quickly. Some hits in the mid/late rounds but those guys don’t have the ceiling of early round picks .. which is why we have extensions for guys like Shakir and Benford and they’re simply good to very good, but not elite players. FWIW, I agree with @Buffalo716 that Beane's track record is very good drafting in the middle/late rounds. The overall league'hit rate' there is like 15-20%, lower in the 6th and 7th. Beane consistently finds guys who can ball - both guys who can start, like Milano, Benford, Shakir - and guys who can make the roster as backups/ST. A lot of the guys we don't keep, wind up on other teams. 4 hours ago, SCBills said: The philosophy for drafting Kincaid made zero sense and has been evident in the fact he plays like 30% of snaps per game as a big slot. For the season, Kincaid's snaps are 63%, 57%, and this season 43% of the snaps. The lower % of snaps are due to leaving a game due to injury, and then working his way back in after missing games due to injury. 29 minutes ago, thenorthremembers said: There are rumblings that he was late again this week.
