The numbers say that Kincaid is injury-prone.

In his first 2 seasons he played in 29 of 34 games.

This year he missed one game before not being able to finish out yesterday... plus he'll be out an indefinite number of games going forward.

It's just my opinion but I think he's gonna struggle to stay healthy and to have a long career.

this is a guy you let walk, and he will have a career bouncing around from team to team on 1-year deals.

This FO has shown repeatedly that they don't let injury concerns influence their decision to hand out contracts.

They're very "glass half full" when it comes to expecting guys with checked availability to receive a contract and then stay healthy.

If they get Palmer back it should help. If there is no Palmer and no Kincaid it will probably look like the Atlanta game again.

If we're missing Kincaid that Houston game is going to be rough regardless if Palmer is back or not

I agree with you however this is the kind of player that McBeane have typically extended, the kind of player that McBeane fall in love with and reward prematurely.

Milano was injury-prone before his extension as was Terrel Bernard. Ed Oliver missed 4 games in the season before he signed his extension. In 3 seasons Dawson Knox never played a full season before signing his extension in 2022. Greg Rousseau missed 6 games in 3 seasons before his extension.

that Houston game on a short week is not going to be pretty. The only way we win that is to just pound the ball, play field position, and try to grind out like a 16-13 type win.

He seems to be our leading receiver with Shakir.  Not having him in the line-up for the next number of games will make the passing game even more suspect.

At least he got injured in a game and not practice?

But seriously here's another guy on the roster that just can't stay on the field. I love Kincaid and I think he's a true weapon at TE. But availability is the best ability right

Is he really that undersized?  He is 6'4" and 240lbs.  That is about the same size as Brock Bowers, George Kittle, Sam LaPorta, Trey McBride, and David Njoku.  Pass catching TEs mostly seem to fall in the 240s.  Of course, he is not as big as Kelce or Hock.

Also, it is not like his size is what caused his hamstring injury.

I'm frustrated with the game and with the injury too, but that's because Kincaid is good.

I don’t think we are supposed to be people of reason today. Good thought, so maybe we can get back to this next week……. if we win.  Otherwise it will be more of the same.

Let's not count on seeing him again any time soon.  Him, Oliver, Milano, Palmer, etc etc etc.  It seems like any minor injury on this team turns into months long lingering problems. Whatever, let the guy sit and call up Gabe Davis.  We have by far the worst WR room in the league, a direct indictment on Beane, again.

I've got an idea that the players are dragging their own injuries out bc McD has lost the team and they want to make graceful exits in the offseason without career threatening injuries.  It's written all over Allen's face.

Something inserted in Allen's face. Not sure what it is. I'm really starting to believe that this is the reason Diggs left. Scheme/philosophy

I said we should trade him this offseason and a few people clearly disagreed.

So what’s yalls plan with him?

Ride out his rookie contract and let him walk?

Extend him?

Hes rarely healthy.  This is now who he is, not some flukey thing.

The team doesn’t trust him to block so he isn’t out there enough to justify paying him.

For a team that talks about being able to run and pass out of the same formations, he’s basically an automatic tell that it’s a pass play when he’s on the field.

What exactly do yall want to do with him after this season?

Im not saying give him away, but if we can get a 2nd or 3rd and say a 5th..  roll with Knox/Hawes and get Allen actual WR’s.

I've gotten very tired of the injury excuses. Actually, I'm just downright tired of everything!

what was miami's excuse? they were on the 4th string nickel, missing 2 CB's, douglas was CB3 and limited. they had no chop, had just traded jaylen phillips, their OL is missing two guys on IR. starting safety on IR. their depth is just missing. their all pro wr is out. waddle is banged up. ollie gordon banged up. waller was out.

in a 10,000' view it is obvious the Bills are injured.

the whole damn league is injured. and the basic 4-3 defense of the dolphins on dpeth players just hurt us bad...

And how many didn't make the hof or an impact?  How many other needs did this team have that were more important?

Cmon this is a bad argument you're not good at lol

Seriously. Flabbergasted.

To defend your logic here it's simply taking every other player to exist that was dragged and amazing or HOF. Lol

Don’t make a stupid statement that TEs can’t have impact as pass receivers when it is blatantly obvious they can.

I’d honestly look to trade him.

We can’t keep doing this.  Building a team around small/soft for the position, oft-injured players.

He has elite receiving talent at the position but can’t block to the level we want him to so he’s a complete tell when he’s on the field.

And that’s when he’s healthy as he’s hurt every other game and when we decide to use him.

A luxury for a team that can’t really afford luxuries.

Kincaid is about the only player on this roster with elite route running ability. His injury issues are maddening, but 17 games and I think he’s a legit 1000+ 8 TDs a year kind of TE. You shouldn’t be so quick to give up on a position that is notoriously hard to draft correctly. The Bills receivers are a joke, but I look at Kincaid & Shakir as core building blocks. They need more talent around them to really hit their true potential.

On teams that have other needs addressed sure. In some cases sure. But the 2023 Buffalo Bills did not need a luxury tight end as much as they needed a wide receiver or anyone to get down field and catch it.

My solution would be to transition Kincaid to WR during the off-season. Put on some muscle mass and drop his weight about 10 pounds. Creates some match up advantages against most corners. There's your 50/50 ball guy. Not blazing fast but neither are productive receivers like Puka Nucua. That puts Knox on the field for more plays and makes Coleman expendable if he doesn't produce. Then go get a genuine #1 WR.

He doesn't run routes well, catch catch like a WR, and isn't fast enough

Otherwise he would be a tight end.

Games missed is a pretty misleading stat as well, he was active for games where he had a significantly reduced role due to being hurt.

Him and Oliver are pretty much the epitome of the players Beane targets.  High skill, oft injured, undersized.  It's objectively a failed draft philosophy.

per Google AI...The average NFL tight end is approximately 6'4" tall and weighs between 245 and 250 pounds... so Dalton's listed at 6'4" 240 lbs, man that's super undersized...

The top 4 WRs went before our draft slot that year.  You could if course make an argument to trade up.
