My QB is amazing running to his right? Maybe I should run some bootlegs or plays that move the pocket? Nah. Let's keep him in the pocket as much as possible. What? Wh have guys that can't create separation on their own? Maybe I should design some ways to get em open. Nah. Line em up and run 15 WR screens.

Yea today they were a problem.  But my point was that when you look at the issues facing the Bills THIS SEASON Allen is the LEAST of their problems.  Sure when Allen has to play Superman he puts the ball in greater risk. There will be TO's.  But he also makes spectacular plays.  

 

I am a fan and I am being honest when I say that the Defense is still a major issue and that our WR group is as bad as there is in the NFL.  And the coaching can be head scratching at best.

He's at minimum a stubborn fool who won't admit he is wrong. By refusing to acknowledge what is obvious to anyone with two functioning eyes, Beane has opened the door for questions about his motives and competency

The GM built a bad WR room. The OC does dim things. The head coach is an enabler. The owner is not bright and makes bad decisions. We were gifted Josh Allen and they are finding a way to Philip Rivers him.

We're hand-wringing over individual plays & strategies - but we DID NOT SHOW UP TODAY.

 

That is the problem. We weren't motivated.  We won our "KC Super Bowl" and thought we could coast.  

 

The NFL isn't that kind of league. They had to show up today like they showed up last week - but they thought it would be easy, so took it easy.

It's also true that designing an offense that is the complete opposite of your generational QB's talents is an asinine thing to do in the first place. 

Allen started forcing things in the 2nd half with the Bills down 16 - 0.  That's when TO's can rear their ugly head.  In the first half bad coaching, terrible WR play and a piss poor Defensive effort all contributed to the Bills being down 16 - 0.  And when Allen put the cape on it was to little to late as the Bills simply don't have the explosive plays or play makers to exploit what Allen brings to the table.

Problem was Cooper was the wrong guy we got

 

Davante Adams is leading the league for receiving TD's and we could've traded for him instead of a washed Cooper

TO's are going to happen.  In the past the Bills often overcame them because they were built to overcome them.  This team not so much.

On paper, you'd think this WR room was better than last year.

 

Last year, other than the Baltimore game early on, I rarely felt we were out of it.  Games like the Rams game where the D got cooked, we still felt like we were in the game because we could still move the ball.

 

I miss Mack Hollins, the attitude he brought to the room and the key catches he made even though he never lit up the stat sheet.

 

I really think they need to go back and look at what they were doing schematically last season compared to what they're doing this year. It's just not the same.
