Seattle knows how you win in the modern NFL - stack your offense and steamroll your opponent. They already had maybe the best pass game in the NFL and decided to make it even better. Add to your strengths and dare teams to stop you.

I’d pump the brakes on the Seattle juggernaut. They’ve made the playoffs once since 2020. And that was with a 9-8 record.

Using the most recent draft, it would be like trading Deone Walker and Jackson Hawes for Shaheed. Rental player contract up at end of season.

Yeah, but go back one more year and we're talking Ray Davis and Edefuan Ulofoshio

A fair price for Shaheed would have been a single fifth.  This was an overpay for a guy like him.

I did want him but I can see not paying that much.  Plus if either Palmer or Davis gets back to full health we might not need him as bad.

Guess Beane couldn't make the call while he's sitting on his hands. I'd like to think that we didn't go after Shaheed because someone better is coming our way. But that feels like fools gold at this point. sigh

I know we have Josh Allen & all, but i wish we had a little bit more of a sense of urgency to actually make a real run at a title. I swear to the Gods that if we waste the career of this guy, it'll be a stain on this entire organization, that'll linger for the rest of our lives.

I know if i were GM, i wouldn't rest comfortably knowing we have Josh. I'd do whatever i could to surround him with a playmaker or 2.

Now Hoecht is gone. Are there any old Carolina players out there that we havent tried yet?

Shaheed doesn't move the needle any more than a healthy Palmer does. Let kincaid Cook. (Pun intended).

I'm in a minority - but I don't think he's the guy we needed, or that he would have moved the needle.

We have speed on the roster already.  We just don't really use it.  He's yet another WR3 on a roster full of 'em.

It’s funny that everyone is screaming for a WR (hey, I’m in that group too!), when the offense is #1 in the entire league in YPG and #3 in points per game.  I get it though, feeling is that in the postseason we’re going to need to outscore teams to advance. Still crying about Hoecht.

he was valued as a fast WR and return guy for special teams.  I understand fans frustration over not signing a guy who can stretch the field for the Bills.'

But I concur with your point. The bills need use the studs we DO have as what we saw on Sunday. and not melt down over not siguning a guy who may not have been better than we already have.

pretty steep IMO for what you get here.

It's a time value of money sort of thing. The Seahawks are legit and in it to win it this year, not two years down the road.

100 percent.

That's probably going to end up being the big miss.  A 4th and 5th is nothing and you have the chance of letting him go at the end of the season if he doesn't work out.  Pretty cheap trade for a team that is eyeing a SB run.

Im not gonna lose any sleep over Shaheed - we already don't use similar guys in Samuel or Moore and what we really need is an outside WR1.  Unfortunately the best options available are likely not being moved or not likely to be moved to us in Olave, Wilson, and Waddle.

FWIW, the most recent Bills 4th and 5th rounders...

  • Deone Walker
  • Jordan Hancock
  • Jackson Hawes

Improve the scouting and Bills take those guys in earlier rounds where they massively whiffed.
