Does Beane know nothing about building a WR room? 😡 😡 😡 Again, do you really believe that Beane is actually trying to make this trade? Which of his trades were rumored before they happened? chris heff Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Moving Gabe Davis to the practice squad makes me skeptical, don’t think Bills make a trade unless it is a gift. 1 1

I've been reading about so much regret from Bills fans because they didn't sign DK. Some teams like having multiple good WRs instead of one or zero 3 minutes ago, Simon said: Unless he's a waaaaay better blocker than I think he is, he's probably not likely to put Keon on the bench. He may just be more of a Palmer replacement to them. If we trade for Jakobi, I think it means Palmer may miss more time. 1

Mike in Horseheads Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I have him on my FF team and he's been mediocre at best. I realize a lot of that is his QB but it would be nice some production if we're trading for anybody.

Olave was the only bigger fish that was thought to be had. But then that was squashed when it was revealed that they weren't only trying to extend him, but Olave is working with them to get it done. Only real shot was if he was telling them he wanted out and he's doing the opposite. Options like Waddle and Wilson seem unlikely to be traded. But even if they are, there's 0% chance that they'd move him to us inside the division with all the suitors they'd have. A.J. Brown was never going to be moved regardless of how disgruntled he got a few weeks ago and now he's calmed down anyways. BTJ isn't available. Even the initial report that made everyone go crazy just said teams were calling about his availability but that it was "very unlikely that they'd trade him". Since then they've come out and said they absolutely won't trade him. Jakobi Meyers and Rashid Shaheed seem like the only actual options and likely the best we can do. You can't force a team to sell you what they refuse to sell. And it's ridiculous to me with what we're rolling out and what we're getting at a number of the WR spots we have that people would be upset by getting one of them in here. You call it shopping in the Honda Civic lot. I've got news for you, a Honda Civic is world's better than the 50 year old Ford Pinto we have to push down the road. The grand sum total through 7 games for HALF of our entire WR core (Samuel, Moore, Shavers) *combined* is 13 catches for 164 yards and 1 TD. Let that sink in. It's ridiculous to me that people would complain about bringing in a Meyers, who's coming off of a 1000 yard+ season and who's low since 2021 is 804 yards, when we're getting what we're getting out of half of our core. It's like dying of thirst in the Desert and seeing a canteen that's half filled and saying "it's only half full so I'm not going to drink it". Meyers would be an upgrade over most of the WR's on this roster. We need all the help we can get and if that's the best we can do, you do it. Get a Shaheed or Meyers in here, activate Gabe when ready, push some of the guys who aren't getting open or providing literally nothing (like Shavers who's gone without a catch in 5 of the 7 games he's dressed) off the roster, and hope for the best. One thing I’m confidant in, if we trade for Meyers, Keon won’t be getting nearly the same amount of targets as he has so far this season 1

That would be my biggest concern He has been a slot guy 30.9% slot snaps last year and 1027 yards. 50% for his career, but the last two years much less and he's still been productive.

Hunter and BTJ for Jax are both way better than anything we have. For Giants you have to include Nabers, not to mention slayton and Robinson who are better than any outside WR on our team. For Carolina Tet would be our #1 by a mile, not to mention Coker (and maybe Legettee too) is prob better than any of our outside WRs. Our WR room is probably the worst in the league objectively if you are looking at starting WRs only, although we do have some depth of mediocre WRs. The worst part is, this was the case last year and it cost us when it mattered. And was entirely predicable before this season too. I was as hopeful with Keon as anyone but he just doesn't have that starting high end ability. We have to something. Shaheed or Myers would be a start and at least give us a shot this year. Nah, we`ve already got a shot this year, a good one. And the question was whether those teams' WRs in total were better or worse, not whether other teams had one guy who was better. None of those teams are obviously better as a group, though for 2 or 3 of them it's an easy argument to make. It's not objective, it's just not. It's subjective, an opinion is what it is. And for the millionth time, the objective in football is not to have the best WR room. It's to have the best team. 1

I don't disagree with much of what you said, but the bigger picture here is that any way you slice it our WRs are not good, and objectively one of the worst groups in the league. Teams do not respect any one of our WRs. In the playoffs against good teams, if they shut down Cook and dare our WRs to beat us, we are screwed absent a miraculous performance from Josh. That's just not sustainable over a 4-5 game stretch.
