Kansas City.... Who/What do you despise the most about playing them?

  1. 1. It's our seemingly yearly meeting with a non-divisional opponent and the "hate" grows every year.  Who/what do you despise most about that team?  For me, it's Travis Kelce.  He is a complete douche and I really, really, really hope he does not break the KC touchdown record against us.

Annoyed be a lot of the players.

Most annoying is mahomes with the cocked head, chewing on his mount guard and and the “come here” hand gesture.

Oh, and kelce and swift can jump in a lake.  Absolutely

loved seeing him in his “fly” suit after the Super Bowl loss crawling to her suite.

Until we beat them when it counts, can hate them all we want and it won’t change anything.

I wish there was an option to choose two.  I started with Beaker (Kermit-  To me he looks and talks more like Beaker if you watched the Muppet Show), not that I think he’s so cocky, but he’s treated in the media as if he does nothing wrong when he’s had two down years.  Kelce is more of the annoying one with his never ending presence on social media, and don’t get me started with the ongoing crap on Swifty relationship.  He’s also taken a downturn in his performance, but just occasionally listening to guys like Collinsworth on the broadcasts, you’d think they both walk on water.

I don’t hate either one of them, as there are only 1-2 people I hate.  They are just annoying to me.

I think what compounds the issue is we had a front row seat to the Patriots dynasty for so long. We watched it hoping one day we would find our franchise guy and be "the team". Only to see the Chiefs rise just as the Pats fall.

We obviously did find our guy but unfortunately assisted them in finding their guy as well, as is known.

After Five Years, the Patrick Mahomes Trade Is Officially Resolved

Why the Bills Are to Blame For Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs Dynasty

Bills' NFL Draft trade decisions with Chiefs backfire in the worst way in AFCCG

Doug Whaley remembers just how much his boss wanted Mahomes. (From https://www.golongtd.com/p/the-day-the-buffalo-bills-couldve preview)

“He, without a doubt, would have given his firstborn for Mahomes,” Whaley says. “Not only was he looking at him, but he had all of his numbers guys running analytics. Watching every game. Every throw. So he was steadfastly, unequivocally all about Mahomes.”

"Other" is the correct voting choice for me, April 27 2017 is the date that the NFL landscape changed, 8 years and 6 months later it still lingers on.

We have got to inflict some playoff misery on the Mahomes/Reid Chiefs with Josh and then win the Super Bowl, it'll make us feel better when it happens.

Go back to 2018-2019, and I was very much rooting for the Chiefs to win.  I wanted to see Andy Reid finally get one.  I thought Patrick Mahomes was fun to watch.  The team was new and exciting.  And more than anything else... I was ready for the two decade long Patriots dynasty to finally end.

Even from 2020-2022, I still had an element of respect for the Chiefs.  Even with our postseason losses to them.  They were a very good team that we were simply struggling to get past in the playoffs.  It was frustrating, but there wasn't anything in particular I could hate or dislike about that franchise (outside of domestic abuser Tyreek Hill).

To me, everything started falling apart with the Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce fiasco.  The NFL couldn't go 10 minutes without showing her reaction to the game, and every element of their coverage reeked of blatant favoritism.  It was around the same time that officiating also started getting ridiculously biased in their favor.  Every single 3rd-down stop from the opponent was followed by a suspiciously late yellow flag.  There was a noticeable drop in how well the team was actually playing every week... but somehow (often with help from the refs), they continued to find ways to win.

At this point, Chiefs games are pretty much unwatchable for me.  I won't even tune in hoping they lose.  I didn't watch the Super Bowl, and didn't even know who won the game for almost a week after.  I haven't watched any of their primetime games this year, and probably won't watch another outside of the Bills matchup.  I'm not really excited about Sunday's game, and will be very quick to change the channel if things start going south.  Seeing that team have any kind of success is literally that nauseating for me.

One more point.  I think it's just dreadfully boring to watch the same teams win ALL THE TIME.  We just suffered through the Patriots for nearly 20 years, and now the Chiefs have made the AFC Championship a whopping 7 years in a row.  There are currently 12 franchises (and their fanbases) who have NEVER won a Super Bowl.  That's more than 37% of the league.

Why hate them?

I hate that the Bills don’t have the players/coaches to beat KC in the playoffs.

That's not KC’s fault.

Just like it wasn’t NE’s fault all those years.

You know what I hate?  I hate the completely uninformed takes that Allen "can't beat Mahomes in the playoffs."

Allen can't beat Spags & Reid.  Allen can't beat a defense that is consistently better - by a significant margin - than the one on his team.  Allen can't tell the kicker to squib it when he puts his team ahead with 13 seconds left in a game.  Allen can't catch the ball Kincaid couldn't reel in, or make the officials spot the ball correctly on a 4th down he made.  Allen can't block Chris Jones, or make a FG that his kicker missed that would have tied a game.

Allen doesn't play Mahomes. They're never on the field together.

I don't mind Mahomes.  A little bit of a baby but overall, seems like a quality guy.

Same with Kelce.

I don't like Rice or his mom.

I don't like that Britt Reid, I believe got a pardon.

That's not the Chiefs fault but it is on their image because he was on the staff.....and with multiple legal problems.

I’d argue that Josh is doing as good a job as anyone against spags…I would’ve even say he can’t beat spags and Reid.  At the time we had the two highest scoring totals on the chiefs starting defense for 2024 (Super Bowl knocked us down to #2 and #3)

I think the bills offense would’ve scored 75 on the bills defense down benford and Rapp last year 😂

I completely agree. Allen has pulled his weight in these playoff matches. It's coaching that has failed him.
