When you’re the seller with no real desire to move him lol it’d have to be an ‘offer they can’t refuse’ type thing because they’re fine keeping him Quote
Process Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I would have done that deal for Meyers. Hope they're cooking up something else. Quote
CircleTheWagons99 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Are we going to hear anything during the day, im tired of hitting refresh.......not letting me get any work done..... Quote
stlbills13 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I'm good with not paying that Jakobi Meyers price. But man we gotta do something here Quote

Rumor has it they are using lanterns and if you see two in the sky tonight a trade happened, but if only one no trade. Quote

Look what an infusion of speed has done for our defense. Speed is the way. You see what speed did for the Bills Defense. You see how James Cooks speed makes him the NFLs best back. Just wait until we add speed to our WR room. SPEED IS THE WAY! 1 1 Quote
ndirish1978 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I like BTJ but he hasn't been great this year, would be learning our system on the fly and would not be cheap. I don't get the logic where he's good enough to trade for hoping he can adapt quickly, but bad enough that the Jags would trade him. I feel like I'm missing something here? They are 5-3 and trying to improve by trading for WRs while Hunter is out, I just don't get how a trade helps them? Quote

Could this have been a moving part in the talks that you know about? Could it have hinged on the Jags getting another receiver to fill the void of moving BTJ? It certainly could be a part of it. Adding Meyers certainly makes trading BTJ more likely. 1 Quote

"Unless blown away by an offer" is something you only put out there if you want a team to make you that offer. But what does blown away? One 1st round pick? Two? I wouldn't blink at sending them a 1st + a 4th or a 2nd + 3rd for BTJ. I think you could probably get Olave, Shaeed, or maybe Waddle for cheaper though. 1 Quote

From my understand, BTJ just hurt his ankle and could be out for a while. With Hunter out too, they need a receiver. I don’t think it’s anything more than that 1 3 Quote

And even learning the system on the fly he'd be an upgrade over what we have. I would assume the only real reason the Jags would trade him is that they don't have a 2026 1st rounder 1 1 Quote

I would think we'd give him a shot before we'd spend draft capital mid season in a sellers market on a position that isn't of great need right now. He’s someone to give a chance to. Wonder if his being on the PS with Davis being subpar is a sign he’s not ready. And the fact that Davis had zero rushing touches says something about what they feel about Davis currently. As far as what we should get? Defense. Need to bolster the line after losing Ed and Hoecht. Quote

Nothing long term has been determined from the injury as of now, but this feels like a depth move, not a chess move. 1 1 Quote
Allen2Moulds Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) I continue to believe that the Jags are def open to trading BTJ. Gladstone and Cohen are both 1st year guys, and they have been disappointed with BTJ this year. New GM's love their draft picks, and I can see them trying to recoup the 1 they traded away. After Russini initially leaked that they were listening, days later the Jags report that they are not trading him. They did not have a need at WR and just traded two picks for 1, and then immediately again report that they are not looking to trade him, although there moves say otherwise. That being said, it still has to be for the right price. Come on Beane, let's get it done, please!!! Edited 6 hours ago by Allen2Moulds 1 Quote
