I like BTJ but he hasn't been great this year, would be learning our system on the fly and would not be cheap. I don't get the logic where he's good enough to trade for hoping he can adapt quickly, but bad enough that the Jags would trade him. I feel like I'm missing something here? They are 5-3 and trying to improve by trading for WRs while Hunter is out, I just don't get how a trade helps them?

It certainly could be a part of it. Adding Meyers certainly makes trading BTJ more likely.

From my understand, BTJ just hurt his ankle and could be out for a while.  With Hunter out too, they need a receiver.

I think a BTJ trade is just as much about these next few years as it is this year. And even learning the system on the fly he'd be an upgrade over what we have. I would assume the only real reason the Jags would trade him is that they don't have a 2026 1st rounder

He’s someone to give a chance to.

Wonder if his being on the PS with Davis being subpar is a sign he’s not ready.  And the fact that Davis had zero rushing touches says something about what they feel about Davis currently.

 

As far as what we should get? Defense. Need to bolster the line after losing Ed and Hoecht.

For those wanting BTJ or thinking the Meyers trade is an indication they are about to move him. 
 

Nothing long term has been determined from the injury as of now, but this feels like a depth move, not a chess move.

I continue to believe that the Jags are def open to trading BTJ.  Gladstone and Cohen are both 1st year guys, and they have been disappointed with BTJ this year. New GM's love their draft picks, and I can see them trying to recoup the 1 they traded away.

After Russini initially leaked that they were listening, days later the Jags report that they are not trading him.

They did not have a need at WR and just traded two picks for 1, and then immediately again report that they are not looking to trade him, although there moves say otherwise.

That being said, it still has to be for the right price.

Come on Beane, let's get it done, please!!!

Olave and Waddle are definitely better than BTJ imo.
