And the Pro Bowl RB (and hopefully more accolades), made it work beautifully. Allen is making strides on coming out of his slump. Yes, we have receiver issues but his fear of throwing a pick and making mistakes is overriding his ability to make any splash plays. I'm run blocking yes 1 Quote

Carolina knew the game was over. They weren't playing with any urgency or intensity in the 4Q. We were running it down their throat because we had that luxury this game. What happens in games we don't against good teams? On paper, this WR room should've been at least on par with last year or better. It's not. It's bottom tier in the league. Nobody is doing much of anything other than Shakir. We're actually missing Mack Hollins. He made lots of big catches for us. 1 Quote

Who is that going to beat beside mediocre teams or a team like we saw today without it’s starting qb? Josh will be Josh but outside of Shakir and Kincaid, and Cook running it. that’s it. Teams will load the box to stop Cook and what’s Josh going to do? We need a weapon outside to open things up. Palmer is solid too…still think we should add one more but I don’t see that injury talked about a lot.. even if you have a pretty low opinion of him getting someone like Elijah Moore off the field and palmer on is a big upgrade any way you slice it Quote
CincyBillsFan Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Great win. the passing attack was out of kilter in the first half mostly due to mental mistakes: Dawkins on taking the outside blitzer and not the inside one; not lining up properly on a 3rd and short that Allen converted giving the Bills a first & goal; and a bad holding penalty. Looked better in the 2nd half. Cook was on fire in part because the O line blocked the run great and partly because the Panthers focused on stopping the Bills short passing attack and Allen runs. This is what complimentary football looks like. The D looked very good with the 2 suspended guys having a big impact. 55 was around the QB on almost every pass. Epenesa had a great game as did Poyner. The rookie was glued to the WR while in the game and had a great tackle where he closed the gap very fast. Oh and Bishop played very well. 1 Quote

BRH Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Missed the GDT because I was in DC again watching with my son; I need to come down here more often. (The Light Horse in Alexandria is a great little Bills bar.) I too thought Josh looked frustrated and almost resigned for much of the first half. But the defense came up huge, harassing Dalton most of the game, and mostly throttled Carolina’s big receivers. Hairston and Hoecht were difference-makers for sure. I didn’t notice Ogunjobi at all; did he play much? Nice to hang a 40-spot on the road and keep the opponent to single-digits. Really was hoping Cook would break into the franchise top five for single-game rushing yards, but he just missed (although he did beat Thurm’s career high by three yards) and the lopsided score kept him him from chasing more. Top five is still OJ (four times) and Gilchrist. 1 Quote

Carolina was red hot with one of the best running backs in the NFL and the Bills destroyed them. I don’t care what happens against KC. This was a solid win against a solid team. Beating the Chiefs in the regular season no longer impresses me like it used to. 1 Quote
mannc Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Im sure this has been mentioned, but how long has it been since a Bills RB rushed for over 200 yards in a game? Quote

Bangarang Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Defense had a very good game. Hairston looked good in his first taste of game action. Cook was the best player on the field and it wasn't even close. I thought Brady struggled to get the passing game going and the receivers struggled to make things easy for Josh. At the same time, it looked like Josh left pockets pretty early. Likely because he didn't trust the protection to hold up and didn't trust the receivers to get open within the design of the play. I think it's still obvious this team has a big problem at WR. Relying on Shakir to break tackles and make big plays after the catch is not sustainable. The passing offense seems too elementary, partly because of Brady and also because Beane has done a terrible job at managing the WR position. 4 6 2 Quote
