You can't expect them to give up a 1,200 yard rookie WR for anything less than that... regardless of how he has looked this year. I'd do it. Our first picks have basically almost been like 2nd round picks anyway given where we pick year after year and given the lack of success with ours in recent years, I don't see it as giving up a ton when it addresses a clear and present need for this team. But I'm worried that his stats all come from Mac Jones, who is like the anti Josh Allen in play style. It is a lot. But it's going to take a lot to get him on Year 2 of a potential 5 year Rookie deal. 1 hour ago, Buffalo716 said: He gets traded, it's not even going to take a first round pick People have goggles on a talented wide receiver who has his head in the gutter right now... The leader in drops with metrics at the bottom of the NFL is not going for a first round pick No matter if he's 6'2 and runs a 4.39.. The biggest red flag is if the jaguars would trade that guy with 2.5 years left on his rookie deal It's going to take a 1st or multiple 2nd's. You don't ignore a Pro Bowl, All Rookie Team 1st year completely for some metrics in the first third of their second year. As for them willing to trade him after Year 1, you have to keep in mind the RIDICULOUS move they made for Travis Hunter in April. Part of that deal may have been them knowing they'll recoup some of those assets by trading BTJ. With them Drafted one year apart, they'll eventually have to lose one or pay them both within a year of each other. I don't think it's crazy to assume that they saw Travis Hunter as Generational and made the move for him knowing part of that would be moving on from BTJ. Especially since their GM wasn't the one to Draft BTJ and was the one to go all in on Hunter. 30 minutes ago, Warriorspikes51 said: If Beane is willing to part with a 1st, would you rather have BTJ or Olave? Olave isn't an option. Every day they proclaim he won't be traded. I'd say that could be posturing. But what seals the deal for me is that they've been talking extension and Olave is interested. My take was always that it would only happen if Olave was rebuffing their overtures. With it being reported that's not happening, he's not going anywhere. It's Shaheed or nothing from New Orleans. 32 minutes ago, HappyDays said: We haven't traded away a 1st round pick since 2020, and that trade ended up one of the best additions in franchise history. It feels like it is the right time to make that sort of blockbuster trade. Next year's draft supposedly is strong in LBs, safeties, and IOL. We don't need 1st round talents at those positions. We need a legit WR to complete our offense. Any use of a 1st round pick is a risk. I'll take the player that put up 1,200 yards in year one over any random rookie. My concern is that our wins come against teams with a combined 8-28 record. The injuries are mounting on Defense, that while looking great today, is incredibly suspect. We've struggled against teams we shouldn't be struggling against. The Patriots are essentially 1.5 games up on us in the Division right now (with the victory over us) and absolutely rolling. We could be giving up our best pick since 2019. I'm not against doing it. But I would avoid giving up that 1st in 2026, if at all possible. Edited 2 hours ago by BillsFanForever19 Quote
Charles Romes Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago If a little sophomore slump has actually made this guy available on a first contract, it’s time to push all of the chips to the center of the table. Quote
