There was a clip going around from one of the practices this week that appeared to show Jordan Hancock on the field with Cole Bishop and getting 1 on 1 coaching from McDermott after the rep... Probably shouldn't read too much into that but maybe they'll give the rookie a shot.

I do expect Poyer to be activated to the roster, we have two open spots right now. No way Poyer can be worse than what Rapp has shown so I can live with it if he ends up starting.

Even diminished, last game when Poyer was in was the best that the safety position has looked all season. Astounding.

On top of that, they knew Rapp had a potential serious injury in training camp but couldn’t weave in getting Hancock ready? Even worse, you’ve watched for SEVEN weeks of Rapp struggling and still couldn’t get Hancock ready?

Really inexcusable IMO!

It’s inexcusable that the 170th pick in the draft isn’t ready to start in game 7 of his rookie season?  In all probability, his upside is career backup based solely on his draft slot.

That sort of ranking doesn’t apply in football. There are NOT 170 safeties in the draft.

This weeks Bills secondary is probably the worst secondary fielded by the Bills in the last 25 years. McDermott is going to have to do magic to hide this roster deficit.

The Lions last game had an entirely different secondary than they opened the season with. And they performed very well. No excuses, man up and figure it out.

Yea that's likely it for him as a Bill

I was hoping for that after the 1st one year contract… yet here we are.

Roll with Bishop and Hancock!  The new generation. Take the good with the growing pains. And let them evolve together.

The real reason you'd play Hancock with Bishop is it allows Bishop to shade more toward being the box safety and Hancock being the free safety. It's the more natural fit for each.

I see part of the problem as wasting spots on the practice squad for sentimental reasons. I think the Bills believed the hype about them steamrolling through the season, so they signed Tre White, Gabe Davis, and Jordan Poyer to find a way to get them a ring, finally.  How nice.  But those spots should have been used for younger players who can help the Bills win, now.  Putting White and Poyer onto the field as starting DBs is a disaster.  Yes it's good the Bills have them available but they could instead have had young players who can still run, in position to fill those starting spots.

Absolutely, McDermott chooses old or terrible athletes that know the system vs young athletic players. Fatal flaw in his make up.

"There are NOT 170 safeties in the Draft"? What kind of goal post moving is that? That's not the point.

The point is a player taken at the Bottom of the 5th Round at Pick 170 is 9.9 times out of 10 not a starting quality prospect. Let alone expected to be a Starter in their Rookie year.

This would be like complaining that Javon Solomon wasn't made ready to start last season. Or that Justin Shorter should have been expected to save us at WR the year before.

You want to complain about us not addressing Safety more than we did this season? That's f

ine. But being upset that the 170th pick in the Draft, at best our 4th Safety on the Depth Chart (possibly below that), wasn't being prepared to start from the jump is ridiculous.
