The more things change the more they stay the same.  IMHO the 3 biggest areas of need are the same as they were in the off-season. 1) WR, 2) CB, 3) S

1) The WR group of Palmer, Coleman, Shakir, Moore, Samuel and Shavers aren’t get the job done.  They just aren’t creating separation and aren’t getting deep.  We need a legit deep threat to stretch the field and have no one on the roster that can do it.

2) CB - Benford is a given, but White is terrible and Hairston is just beginning to work his way back to the field and as a rookie has zero NFL experience.  We need a legit starter to play opposite of Benford sooner than later.

3) Safety - Bishop is improving, but Rapp should be a backup and Poyer isn’t the answer.  We need someone to pair with Bishop.

I doubt Beane is capable of filling all these needs at the deadline, but if this is the season to go all in, maybe he can fix two of the 3. My choices would be a WR and a CB.

WR and S are the biggest needs. CB is a need right now but once Max is worked in within the next few weeks that need will become a lot less (he can't possibly be worse than White, even as a rookie). Not against adding a veteran depth CB that could spot start in a pinch but don't want to give up any significant draft capital for temporary starter /depth player, and don't want to hinder Max's development. Let him work out the kinks now so he is more comfortable by playoffs.

WR and S are glaring, tremendous needs (and this was obvious before the season as well). If we want any realistic chance of making it to the superbowl this year (other than praying for Allen playing perfect hero ball 4-5 games in a row, which is just shot in the dark) then we have to try and do something at those two positions.

1) WR

2) S

3) CB

4) LB

WR is the easiest fix.  We’re a legitimate WR on the outside away from having as complete of an Offense as you can possibly have.   Takes our one weakness and, potentially, makes it a strength or at least neutral.

Safety is a mess.  Rapp needs to be on the bench and we have to live with the ups and downs from Bishop to see what he becomes.  We have “options”, albeit not great ones, in Jordan Poyer and Jordan Hancock.  Poyer becomes another defender on his last legs but is probably an upgrade at this point and Hancock is a rookie who would be thrown into the fire.

CB2 is an unmitigated disaster with Tre, but the plan is Hairston.  Could use another corner to hedge on Max, but if Strong can come back this year, he’s that guy.

LB has 4 playable guys, 3 of which are injury prone.  Probably enough to get by with but might just be a rotating cast all season and hope they’re all good to go for the Playoffs.   Could see an addition, but more than likely they bank of Bernard finding his form again and having one of Shaq or Milano available week to week.

You need at least two cornerbacks that can be at least average in playing some man defense.  They don't need to be all-pros.

Need a quicker strong safety that reliably tackles.

1. Safety - Probably our best Safety is on IR. How sad is it saying that Hamlin is our best Safety ? ... Shouldn't Safeties be good at tackling ? ... ours aren't.

2. CB - Hairston has been hurt since mini camp in June, I don't see them throwing him to the wolves for a bit. I'd rather see Ingram playing than Tre' at this point. Our boundary CBs are Benford, Tre', Ingram and Hairston whenever he's ready ... That's it.

3. LB - This is another oft injured group all pretty much ailing.

We've been hit hard by injuries on Defense and now have the longest part of the schedule to go. I have serious doubts we'll make it through the rest of the season healthier than we are now.

WR -  Brady needs to scheme these guys open better, go 4 wide, go 5 wide with Cook, try Coleman in the slot etc... They could have the fastest WR in the league and the only time they'll throw the deep ball is if they're behind by three scores, the long ball is low percentage mostly resulting in a lost down or caught for a TD which puts the McDefense back on the field quickly, we can't have that. Complimentary football = 7 minute drives.

Why is it, every year during the last few, we have the same needs at about the halfway point; WR and DB? Whether it's injuries or lack of production. They're needs every season.

1. Tariq Woolen   2. C.G.J. or Duggar

Can’t see the ‘hawks being sellers right now. They’re in the mix for playoffs and even the NFCW title.

- Get Olave or Shaheed.
- Get a safety to replace Rapp.
- Get a LB cause we will still be cycling through injuries all season.
- Get a pass rusher that is young and dangerous.

Buffalo needs to splurge for a receiver with some real speed. Look at what this has done for KC having Rashee Rice back. I hope Beane makes serious inquiries into a potential younger guy who could have a serious future here, but in a SB window I am open for a year rental if the price is right.

Olave or Shaheed for WR.

If New Orleans wants a 1st rounder, just give it to them. Hopefully they go for a 2nd though.

No receiver upgrade coming out of the deadline s a fireable offense.

Are Wilkerson and Cain still on the practice squad?  Obviously they are not studs.  But both are better than Keon right now.  Sit the boys ass down for a few games, so he can learn his craft.  He looks like he has no idea what he is doing on the field.  That the Bills drafted a guy as raw as Keon with so little separation skills early in the second round, when WR was such an important need at the time is mind numbing.

Who is our WR's coach anyways?  What is that guy even doing?

Buffalo wants to run the ball. I wonder if we check stats if it would show Keons worth in the run game. Unfortunately they don't care to support out MVP QB.
