I really appreciate having competent grownups at both positions like McD and Beane. That being said I dont take offense when people criticize them as not being good enough. I think there is ample evidence so far on McD not being able to get us to a SB. I also think Beane deserves some heat for whiffing on some picks and free agent signings. He has also inexplicably overpaid some players on this team not allowing us much wiggle room in the cap. There's no point sugarcoating these justifiable criticisms. Another thing to take into account is the injuries. It’s an easy excuse, but the Bills injury bug is one of unluckiest things I’ve seen in football. Core players at the most important positions dropping like flies. Prior to Hairston going down, the CB room actually looked very promising. Hairston/Benford were solid 1/2 punch w/ experienced vets Tre White/Levi Wallace backing up the outside corners + all pro Taron Johnson manning his usual Nickel spot. Buffalo is absolutely decimated at corner Edit: want to add Dorian Strong to that list as well Edited 3 hours ago by ChronicAndKnuckles Quote
ngbills Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Stubbornness. We are paying Palmer, Samuel, Moore over $20M this season. Imagine a legit WR in stead of 3 average guys. You cant tell me legit #1, Shakir, Coleman, Shavers, Random guy would not be better than Shakir, Coleman, Palmer, Samuel or Moore (we never dress both it seems), Shavers Quote

My guess is McDermott is heavily involved in the draft strategy. Draft strategy, yes he is - though they are very aligned. When Brandon Beane tells you he will always prioritise the defensive line - believe him. He'd be doing that whoever the Head Coach is. But draft selections? No. Beane runs the draft. He owns the picks. Quote

At this point we are doing it to ourselves. I mean hell, take this back to the year Bernard got hurt in the playoffs. You would think the Bills would have drafted a few solid MLB's seeing how big a catastrophe that was. How many have we added since then? So when Bernard goes down we will go, awww!!!! Our lucks is horrible. When his replacement is a total scrub, we will say, awww!!! Bad injury luck. All the while Ray Charles could see what is actually going on and again, it points to Beane. Same story on depending on Max to start at CB or it's Tre White or Dane Jackson. Rookies don't tend to start for McD. Wallace and Benford are the only rookie CB's who have shown a pulse for this team in the entire Beane era. Yet that was the plan. Then Max gets hurt and it's awwww! Injuries! Well, we don't even know if a healthy Max is worth anything. Quote
