Plausible X/#1 receiver trade candidates — are there any?

Running a team as GM with a standard team is what it is.

 

But when you have a super bowl calibre QB, and have limited funds, GM'ing is a different ball game.

 

We have very little ammo to bring in much.

I’m definitely not the GM guru that some on here are but I’d like Coleman and a 7th for Shaheed (heading to free agency) and then a second for Jordan Addison (they could use picks because JJ is probably not the guy).

I won't play these Sammy Watkins decoy games. Beane flushed a 3rd round pick down the drain, and that's a fact.

 

The numbers don't lie. Think what you want but it's undeniable that the offense hummed a lot better after Cooper arrived. 

I don't think opponent has much to do with it either. We played a lot of good opponents after the trade.

He is one more concussion away from retirement. He contemplated it last year. The Saints would immediately take that with zero counter. That is how bad that offer would be.

The Saints are bad and have some WR's they could trade. Olave is a massive injury risk but he could change the complexion of the offense. Shaheed is a legit deep threat on a contract year. Either player I would ring the Saints up to see if they would be willing to part with them and at what cost?

If the Bills are trading for Olave they are doing so by trading a 3rd swapped with a mid to late round pick. I would still do it if I were the Bills but yeah it is a risk.

Jeudy is the best option.

 

Small cap hit and best outside threat.

 

Olave sounds nice but is too close to a Josh Norris situation.

I will throw a real long shot out there - Brian Thomas Jr.  he’s having a rough year and idk, maybe they’d trade him?

 

another long shot - Isiah bond.  Browns sign him undrafted and he barely plays.  So maybe a 6 or 7 and they’d take the free pick.  
 

another desperate option- Gronk?!  Haha that could be fun. 
 

At this point the Bills need to be looking at the College ranks and peppering for a Julio jones type trade up. This is something we could have done for Nabers a few years back.  
 

Hopefully there’s a WR worth trading for.

I would do it too because the risk of doing something to fix the problem is a lot lower than doing nothing other than hoping  and praying for the best with what they have on the roster.

If it was up to me I'd get 2 playmakers. We've underspent on that area to start with.

This team has too many holes to fill; one trade for a wide receiver will not fix them all and the coaches probably will not know how to use whatever receiver we get anyway (see cooper, amari).  Save the draft capital, fire the GM, and get someone competent to make the pick next april.

Based on the team and corresponding player, Olave would be just what the doctor ordered for Josh. And yes it will cost us a 1st and 4th.

Agreed but acquiring 2 WR’s halfway through the season is like watering your yellow lawn with a firehouse.  I’d rather a WR and a RB since the drop-off from Cook is so drastic.  Would love to know the offensive yards per play with and without cook on field.

Maybe instead of signing mediocore players to ten or fifteen or twenty million dollar a year contracts, our GM should have been looking to sign actual difference makers instead, and filled out the roster with what money was left.  Not one guy signed this offseason will make a noticeable difference for the Bills in all likelihood.  Would have been nice to even have even one guy added to the roster who moved the needle.  Up against the cap every year, but with only two real difference makers on the 53 man roster.  Crazy.

I’d say try and get Olave AND Ridley. Just go for it 

Dream Scenario is AJ Brown obviously. If the cap is an issue you might have to try and matchup a big money Dlineman in the deal. Greg or Even Ed Oliver. It sucks to take away from an already weak unit but god knows we aren’t doing anything with them
