I also think the issue is josh wants keon to be a thing so bad. People forget he told beane he liked keon and wanted him in the draft. I won't say the book is written but josh has given him a ton of back shoulder and red zone jump balls, what keon is supposed to be elite at and it hasn't produced much at all.

Yup out of 16 players drafted these last 2 seasons, only 1 ( Walker) has had a good impact. That’s not only staggering but malfeasance.

Unfortunately in hindsight the player I wish Josh had wanted was Justin Jefferson.

One thing I dont think can be argued is were not getting getting 19 million of production from Samuel and Palmer.  Thats a lot of buck and not much bang.   Dont worry Brandon thinks were solid.

Samuel is ALWAYS injured.  So is Bernard.  So is Milano.  So is Daquan Jones..  So is Taron Johnson.  Kincaid has his best game as a Bill.  And now he was out tonite.  We are on our 3rd punter.  Our second kicker (one good thing so far from this season.)  Now Palmer is injured.  Why was Benford out for parts of tonite's game?  Bishop has missed most of the last two training camps.  Hairston has been out since training camp.  This team is always injured and has been a revolving door of mediocre to marginal players.  

 

Amari Cooper came in and broke his wrist.  Oliver plays well against the Ravens and hurts his ankle.  We don't have good starters at a lot of positions, especially on defense.  Let alone have good back ups.  We need guys who are tough solid bigger guys who can take some punishment.

You dont pay a 22 catch TE--the last 2 years, Knox money.   People want to say hes a good blocker, fine pay him blocker TE money.    Groot is turning into a guy with not elite speed or power, and though he did have a FG block, he also erased a huge turnover and is MIA in the rush way too often.    The DL is really only Bosa, Walker and Ed.

This didn’t just become a fact today. 

But, winning covers a lot of warts and now that we are not only losing but looking terrible doing it more posters are ready to acknowledge it.

 

Josh has “ Elwayed” inferior teams and talent 4-6 games further than many other ( even decent to good) QBs could have. He has done this close to single-handedly more than a few times. And he has done that on the O side, carrying “ defenses” that were cruel jokes to those of us willing to be objective.
 

In the process, he has made pedestrian receivers, tight ends, coaches ( OC + HC ) look more capable than they are. Take a second to think about all who have had their best or very good years on JA’s teams, only to fall off a cliff or disappear once gone. He covered for mediocre to poor o line play at the beginning of his career. 
 

One year in to the Brady OC era I suspect the Leagues defensive coordinators have had a chance to figure him out. Now it is a good o line, Cook and Josh that are carrying this O. But, the talent deficit coupled with the league catching up is becoming  a limiting factor, even to Josh.

 

For at least the fifth time on TBD, I’ll restate: I feel terrible for Josh the competitor. He has been absolutely pooched by the malfeasance that has been his coaching and GM through his career. Like a Greek tragedy 😔

Is that really why?  Have the coaches spoken to that?  Just curious

For the sake of my own research, can anyone identify an elite general manager or elite head coach whose career success isn't directly tied to an elite, or at the very least excellent, quarterback?

I think it's safe to say over the last 5 years or so, the WR, CB, S, and LB rooms have all gotten far less talented. Some of it due to stars aging, part due to missed draft picks, part due to short term contacts on middling FAs with dead cap hits the following season

Brandon Beane may have thrown the entire 2024 draft in the garbage.  And 2025 isn’t looking much better although it’s quite early.  Inexcusable.

I was told by Brandon Beane, half this board and most of the guys that cover the team that the only issue was I had a bad attitude. Sal is on the radio today defending this tire fire with injury excuses. 

 

It's to a point now the team needs to implode to get these clowns out of here and make a run in Allen's second act. The cap alone is going to cost us at least next year.
