Einstein Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I know he isn’t our sole problem, but Brady makes so many rookie mistakes on a weekly basis and these mistakes compile to make everything more difficult. A few examples: - Cook out of the game in big moments. All of the time!!! This hurt us in the AFC Champ game and today. He is our 2nd best player on offense and he is on the sideline in crucial moments, like third and fourth downs. Today we had Ray freaking Davis on the field on 4th down instead of Cook. - Running repeated “cute” plays that have historically not worked (eg; the Knox/Moore handoff’s behind the LOS), at crucial moments. And when they repeatedly do not work, he fails to learn from it. In the AFC Champ game it was repeatedly running QB sneak when it wasn’t working. - Never having an answer for 4th and short. The historical numbers look good (if you check them), but don’t let that fool you - those numbers are comprised of a bunch of QB sneaks before the league figured them out, and Josh running around and making magic happen. - He still hasn’t come up with a solution to the exotic blitzes that defenses run against us and absolutely jailbreak our o-line. Im done with him. We aren’t winning a Super Bowl with him. PS, I do feel bad for him in that he was given nothing to work with as far as WR’s, but part of this is his fault as I believe he was a driving force in the “everybody eats” mantra. How about “everybody (including a great WR like Metcalf) eats”? That sounds better to me. 2 7 1 1 1 Quote
RoscoeParrish Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Joe Brady got the job because he ran the offense McD wanted. I think the end around stuff has gotten old and some of our heavy sets have gotten stale. I won’t pretend there is nothing to criticize. But teams are just manning us up, bringing run blitzes, and daring us to beat them. We can’t beat man coverage without Josh breaking out of structure. And we are so ineffective at beating man, that teams will just spy or run a delayed blitz that eliminates Josh’s legs. Brady is no savant but he’s more a product of his players than a completely unskilled OC. 2 2 1 Quote
Sojourner Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Defense is still an issue. You cannot overlook that. However, you might be right. The offense struggles to complete simple tasks and it’s not down to the personnel we have solely. if you isolate it from a play calling / scheming standpoint, it’s very poor. Far too many slow developing plays on short yardage when they choose to throw. Weird, cause the guys we have can make plays more on that route than what they are asked to run more often than not. Kincaid being out hurt but there’s clearly bigger issues afloat on that unit. Defense and special teams weren’t great but they did enough for the team to win. Offense fell short. And did so spectacularly. @HurlyBurly51 posted a tweet about the yardage and drives. It really is a case of TD or nothing. 28 minutes and 21 seconds with the ball and 14 points. 9 minutes and 51 seconds combined for the 2 scoring drives. 2 Quote
Jerome007 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I think he does a good job overall, but ALL the things you listed he is guilty of. These cute plays when they need 1 or 2 yards... That OLINE IS GOOD NOW. Not like 3 years ago. Run it down the middle will ya! And in the second half, the run heavy set with Giliiam, Hawk and Shavers (and COOK) worked. Why did they get away from it? I just don't get it. With all the receivers down and no Kincaid, I expected some 6 OLine set, with Hawk in there too! Quote
MPT Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I don't even buy the "no receivers" argument. The Bucs have been playing with a rookie WR as their #1 and a new OC. And that rookie didn't even play most of the game this week. They still put up gobs of points every week. As an OC you can either scheme guys open or you can't. Ours needs to have JaMarr Chase and Justin Jefferson as his receivers to be successful. 1 3 Quote

Honestly, we let the wrong coach walk when Daboll left. 2 Quote

Tonight, the one thing that did work mostly was Cook runs in the second half. But cutie Brady dials up drive ending play with WR (Moore) who shouldn't even be on the team. Samuel is far more competent but made of glass.... 1 Quote
Comebackkid Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Brady pretty much go the job because it was in the middle of a season and his predecessor was horrible. He kept his job because he didnt suck as bad as his predecessor and the bills didnt really want to actively have to hunt for someone else. As soon as teams started figuring out his play calling he has looked worse and worse. Quote
Chugga Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Everybody eats sounded cool at first. Then I just watched 60 minutes of a falcons dinner for two with Bijan and London and that seemed way more appealing 1 1 Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I can’t tell how much of this is on Josh. On the 4th and short, it seemed like that was an easy throw to Ty, and instead Josh extended the play and tried that underhand flip. Quote

DrDawkinstein Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Doesnt matter since McDefense will make sure we never make it to a Super Bowl to lose. Quote

He is an clown, I'm sorry but I would take Dabol back in a sec over this clown who killed this team with stupid calls and teams are catching up. Pretty sad when announcers are saying it's easy to determine when the Bills are running or passing, it's a huge reason why so many times this season we see plays get totally blown up Edited 6 hours ago by Niagara Dude Quote

Josh did not extend the play because he felt like going out for an afternoon jog. He left the pocket because for the 50th time tonight there was a free Atlanta blitzer coming at him in super sonic speed. As you can see in the image below, Ty Johnson was not even looking when Alllen was flushed from the pocket due to the free blitzer (not to mention the defensive back next to Ty). Allen extended the play out of necessity, and he had no time to stop, reset his hips and conduct a normal over the shoulder throw. His *only* option was the shuffle pass. And if Cook was on the field, I have no doubt that’s a first down, because 1) Ty went too far imo and 2) Ty didn’t come back for the ball at all. Cook catches that. Your Allen hate has reached such ridiculous levels. And btw, I don’t think Josh played well tonight. He had an off game for sure. But *THAT* play you chose to pick on just shows you are trying to find reasons to pick on him. There were several other places you could have picked on, rightfully so. I'm not a fan of Bardy's playcalling all the time and he does deserve some blame but the guy has a bunch of jags at WR, his best TE is injured (AGAIN) but taking Cook out on 3rd downs is really driving me insane. I understand he's not as good at blocking but the guy can catch and run better than anyone on this offense so it shouldn't even be a thought at this point but every single game Cook is on the sideline and it's mind boggling. GoBills808 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago in about 5yrs folks are going to look back in amazement at how much of our offense was Allen doing stuff off schedule to make up for deficiencies in personnel and offensive staff 2 Quote
