Josh Palmer is an okay starter, especially for his cap hit. He plays like a low end WR2. Some more chemistry with Allen will lead to more targets.

 

But the Bills have no WR1. And Palmer is probably more of a WR3 on a team with good WR depth.

 

So we have no WR1, a low end WR2, and a pretty good slot WR. It isn’t surprising when we play good CBs, that these guys get totally shut down.

Beane isn't a fortune teller.  But this man has mishandled a LOT of situations.  Its put this team in jeopardy of losing a division to a slightly above avg Pats team.  

 

All while wasting another year of Joshs career.  Bandaid has to be ripped off and move on from the scouting dept.

 

Yep. Beane has had 8 drafts now, which is way more than most GMs get. We should have some great players anchoring both sides of the ball at this point.

 

Like I look at the 2021 draft & see how it was basically a complete waste.

 

1st) Groot (OK, not great)

2nd) Boogie Basham- Traded for a 6th

3rd) Spencer Brown - Hit 

5th) Tommy Doyle

6th) Marquez Stevenson 

6th) Damar Hamlin - Decent for where he was picked.

6th) Rachad Wildgoose

7th) Jack Anderson 

 

2022 got us James Cook, Khalil Shakir, Christian Benford & Terrell Bernard.

 

A solid group to build off of, if only they followed that up with some premium talent to anchor both sides of the ball. Shakir shouldn't be our WR1. Bernard would be solid if our other LBs were decent or healthy. Benford is good, but they wasted a 1st in the same draft on Elam.

 

2023 got us Kincaid & Torrence. Kincaid is above average, but given our huge lack of talent, is basically our WR1 by default. 

 

2024 set us back HARD. Another draft like 2021 where we had a lot of picks, only to squander them away.

 

2nd) Keon Coleman (But we traded back twice to take him, so basically our 1st)

2nd) Cole Bishop - Dud

3rd) DeWayne Carter - Always injured/Dud

4th) Ray Davis

5th) Van Pran-Granger

5th) Ulofoshio

6th) Javon Solomon

6th) Tylan Grable

6th) Daequan Hardy

7th) Travis Clayton

 

2025 consists of a bunch of injured players or those who won't make much of an impact this year. More "hope for the best in a couple years" kinda guys.

 

So in the last 5 years & 41 picks, the Bills have found 3 x good - really good players (Brown, Cook & Benford), 3 x above average players (Torrence, Groot & Kincaid) and the rest are just bodies that fill out the roster. 

 

Meanwhile, others on your roster leave the team, get older, or get injured each year. Averaging 1 above average - good player a draft isn't going to replace what we lose.

you would think they would learn after trotting out Duke Williams as their wr 1 in a few games.  It's like Beane has a  Ferrari but wants to put cheap gas in it

Can you imagine if Daboll wasnt here to help with evaluating Josh?  This isnt about Daboll, but hes 2 for 2 drafting his QBs (Dart looks like the real deal).

 

McD with another GM here next yr --- that would be ideal at this point.

He couldn't cut it as a starter on the Chargers and was riding the pine last season. They let him walk after the year without even making him an offer, but you claim he's an ok starter.

 

He's only a starter because he's on maybe the weakest wr group in the league, and he's made little impact in six games this season

the hope is with oliver's return, hopefully Milano's return, the excellent play of walker that all of these guys together can make the defense better overall.  Getting hairston back is the one that could really help but it doesn't seem like he is going to play anytime soon.

 

I don't understand the narrative around hoecht and ogunjobi.  The steelers cut ogunjobi because he was lousy against the run his best trait.  Doesn't seem like the rams or the steelers are missing these players.  Fingers crossed they help here.

 

if these two are not above average difference makers for the bills then Beane has a lot of explaining to do because they are the only hope of the free agent class on defense after getting eliminated two years in a row because the defense was awful vs KC.

The Mercedes Benz stadium experience was AWFUL. Worst I've ever seen. Just endless migraine inducing bass and a shrill "DJ" screaming inaudibly into a microphone after virtually every play. Also, it's almost like they're allergic to showing replays on their massive displays.

Ha, this is Atlanta, not Nashville. DJs and Bass is what we do. SWAG AND SURF 

 

CHEAP concession prices and an overall very friendly vibe. Good views from pretty much every seat and lots of concourse bars that have great overlook views of the field.

 

But to each their own. Sorry the Bills ruined the family reunion (hope it was a good time until the game at least), and another great tailgate. They do that sometimes.

Family reunion was fun. A lot of fun, we were tailgating among bills fans, so that was great, and I actually liked the yellow lot.

Lost in all the squawking about the defense is that the Bills offense scored ONCE in the second half…and that was on the first drive after the kickoff. In fact, they scored ONCE in the first half ….also on the first drive. Something is really wrong with this offense!
