Was Drake Maye THAT good yesterday?

He’s talented and had a very good game, this Bills defense is bad and helps everyone they play look good.

 

 The kid didn’t score a TD and got a 3 point win in a game the Pats shoulda won by double digits, the Bills had zero business having an opportunity to win that game.

He was 2019 Allenish.  It was obviously a much bigger game to NE than to Buffalo.  It seems they win the Superbowl in October.  I remember those times during the drought years.  Was the worst offensive output in a year.  Not really much of it was due to Ne defense imo.  I think the team needed it.  Playing sloppy and winning was becoming a trend.

This was Maye 4th good to great game in a row. Yes he had no TD passes but when Stevenson holds onto the ball he is a really good RB and he scored easily on both run plays, also he hit He Ty right in the hands and he wasn’t able to catch it at the end of the half because of the good defense by the Bills.. He also had a couple other drops (1 of Diggs 2 misses he dropped the pass.)

 

I would give Maye an A for last night simply because when they needed a drive at the end he was able to do it and got the Pats in FG range . (He was not ever going to pass the ball once they were in FG range) That’s what a real Top notch QB does.  He is still growing and will make his mistakes but I think I can safely say he is definitely the second best QB in the east and in the middle for the entire NFL. Which isn’t bad for someone in a brand new system this year .

Last night reminded me of when we beat them w/ Fitz - I think that was the 6th game of the season.  I remember thinking we had turned a corner, and would challenge for the division.

 

Then we crumbled.  And like the Pats last night, we really only won because they turned the ball over so much.

It was not legendary but he was outstanding including his best plays in high leverage situations.

All last week the NFL experts on TV were saying you can't run effectively on that NE defensive line.  Our RB's ended up with 19 carries for 60. I find it frustrating that Brady could not foresee some issues in the run game and counter that with some good strategy to burn them.

Yep.  Felt the same way.  I dont see how Ne plays a much better game than that.  That was worst the Bills played on offense in over 18 games.

He was fine, especially escaping pressure... that was really a huge difference...  that said... he doesnt play our defense every week, we made Spencer Rattler look great too.... our DBs are amongst the worst in the league collectively...

He was good,  but yes.. the throating is over the top.

 

Bills with a non-traffic cone at CB2 and recognition that you can’t let Drake Maye break contain, likely shut that Offense down.  
 

Tre White and zero rush discipline made him look like JA’s equal last night.

I agree - Maye is the real deal. We had no answer.

Diggs best game? he has had two in a row for the Pats. Last week was his "best game".

Maye and Patriots played against our crappy defense and spotted Tre White (who should have been retired) vs. a determined Stefon Diggs. Tre White can't cover any more. Pats exploited that match up.

 

Pats defense is pretty good, too. If Pats had a bad defense, we win.

He was pretty good, but certainly not so good that the Pats should have beaten the Bills. The Bills beat themselves and gave the game away.
