Lamar Jackson was drafted in the 1st round AS A QUATERBACK. Yes,  there were some concerns given that he ran SO much in college.  He proved those concerns were unfounded. 

 

Were the concerns that Cooper Dejean may have to move to safety also racist?

I agree, but unfortunately this is the direction of the world lately.  In my generation we would have been mocked by even our friends for it.  I have seen stats that look unbelievably ridiculous, as in about 50% of this current generation have their parents regularly talk to their boss.  I don't want to believe it, but my personal experience says it's true.

 

Helicopter and Snowplow parents make their kids weak and prevent them from truly growing up.

If he was good enough to be a leader and win games for Cleveland right now they would be playing him. If what Rex is saying that he is not putting in the time then that is why he is not playing.

I do not believe the 50% number, that seems like a rediculosly inflated number designed to make people feel outrage. I do believe this happens but I do not beleive that it is even close to 1:2. I know lots of friends and co-workers who have children and none of them ever say anything about chimining in with thier kids boss. If it was this high of perscentage we would all have multiple stories to share about it.

Dejean was never going to be a quarterback in the NFL, a position change was his only path.

I’m sorry, you brought up Shane Falco, a fictional character, no offense to Keanu Reeves, but he is probably a better quarterback than actor. You also brought up Ryan Leaf changing positions, which he did. He changed from quarterback to criminal. Tebow may have actually had an NFL career had he changed positions.

 

I brought up Briscoe to see who would take the bait, the same things were said about Briscoe in the 1968, as were said in 2018, and are still being said in 2025, about Jackson.

 

In a previous post you clearly stated that you “hated” Lamar Jackson, why is that? Is it because of off field behavior? Is there something you know that no one else knows? Do you know Jackson personally?  In this thread you presented the argument that whenever a Black person is challenged or has a disagreement, they claim racism. Is it your position that racism doesn’t exist?  
 

As to Sanders’s mother’s comments. She was replying to Rex Ryan’s comments. Do you have specific knowledge as to Rex’s motives? I have no idea if Rex Ryan was racially motivated or not. As to what Sanders’s mother believes, or has knowledge of regarding Ryan, is speculation. I believe Ryan is a blow hard, that stole Terry Pegula’s money, but that’s my opinion.

NFL teams did not draft Tom Brady earlier because he was white.

There is a really FINE line in the sand today, drawn by the public for Sports Star Athletes, who because of the grotesque increases in franchise values, have been made mega millionaires. And when you become elevated to the status of Josh Allen and are already worth $350M in your mid 20s, DON’T act or say things in public which make you look like an entitled #######!

Unfortunately, my experience with my businesses is that 50% is probably accurate.  I'm sure there are some fields where the number is lower, but I know a hiring manager for McDonalds who tells me her experience is that it is closer to 100%.  I'm sure that brings up the average.

Stefanski apparently doesn't agree that Sanders is ready to play, because Flacco is the backup and the other rookie is starting. 

 

The team and coaches that drafted him would know better than anyone. The fact that they would bench Flacco and start a rookie QB that isn't Sanders tells you about all you need to know. 

 

All that said, with the dumpster fire that is the Browns season on offense, Sanders will almost certainly get his chance to play. 

 

I feel for Miles Garrett. HOF level player whose entire career will be wasted on terrible football teams.

They were talking about DeJean being th first white CB since Seahorn and lots of people hate on Burrow for dressing like an idiot

Agree on where Sanders is. Cleveland is desperate for a FQB. They’d be playing him if he was ready. He’d be QB2 instead of QB3 if he was close to ready. 

 

This media thing was a 3 way competition to see who could be the biggest embarrassment IMO. Sanders should’ve simply given a supportive statement about Gabriel getting the start. I’m happy he thinks he better than some starting QBs, but he needs to keep that to himself. 

 

Rex Ryan is just an idiot trying to be relevant again. He has zero information about whether or not Sanders is putting in the work or not. All accounts from Cleveland is that he is, but that’s to be taken with a big grain of salt. What else would they say?

 

Lastly, Shadeur’s mom’s unintelligent, batshit crazy post is really the topper here. Wow. If she really felt compelled to say something she could’ve just said that Rex is clueless because her son has always been a hard worker and is continuing to bust his ass to learn in Cleveland. No they weren’t, they were talking about DeJean changing his position from quarterback, no one ever mentioned Seahorn. I used Burrow as an example, who cares what he wears and why would anyone “hate on” him?
