I don't totally agree.  If you ask players to constantly play fast to make the penetration play, you're not encouraging them to break down and play solid fundamentals.  The scheme here matters.

The more things change the more they stay the same. It will always be McDermotts defense it's just different guys with the "D" header calling McDermotrs plays during the game.

You can put it on roster construction, though. Repeatedly targeting undersized players who can't make open-field tackles leads to missed tackles.

When you have Josh Allen take the ball away means more than numbers between the twenties.. and we usually always finish top 10 in scoring defense

That is another play where Cook gets 5 or 6 yards when 90% of the backs in football are stopped for no gain. His ability to stop his feet, keep his balance and change direction is ELITE

Another poster said McD is conservative on first drives because he wants to see how they will respond to the offense.
