Interesting inside take on a side of the game not often spoken of. Seems like it's just that... part of the game. Just a part we don't know much about.

Technically not illegal if you're doing it during the game trying to read signals from the field .. from the stands it's illegal

like I said I have absolutely caught opposing teams putting interns or low level assistant in the stands at a perfect seat to try and steal signs over the years

And I have called them out

Problem for me is that I don't think you need to STEAL anything in order to predict the Bills offensive and defensive play calls...I've been doing it as an amateur at a high level for decades lol.

But for real, I effing HATE when ruthlessness is rewarded. You can often see it when a team/organization is pushing it past gamesmanship to the point of cheating, but it's rarely prove-able in the absence of rigorous reporting or snitches. No one gets upset about teams who study and chart opponents' tendencies and circumstantial idiosyncrasies; but when that legitimate statistical analysis is supplemented with more ill-begotten and private intel...and only perpetrated by a connected cohort of coaches...we find ourselves watching contests of questionable legitimacy.

Imagine how much better your DL's/OL's film will be if you're able to provide them with the opposing line's protection/pressure calls/signals in real time...the cheater-era Patriots were SUPER focused on DL/OL calls/signals to my recollection.

I have a similar system place to try and get a read on my wife.

Absolutely not acceptable.  If they are monitoring the other teams sideline for any signal that is cheating as far as I am concerned.  Prepare your team with what is put on film and react accordingly during the game.  Disgusting that anyone thinks this is ok.

If the opposing team does something stupid that gives their play away that's on them. Teams are always trying to use information to gain a tactical edge. Be it monitoring cadence, formations or calls. Or even watching if a player has certain tells such as leaning a particular direction or inadvertently twitching a finger.

That's not cheating, that's being attentive, astute, and smart.

I actually think this is perfectly OK and smart of Belichick...

That whole entire tree. From Sean [McVay], to Kevin O’Connell, to all those guys, they all do it.

This is an unsubstantiated blanket accusation from Saleh. Without any evidence, it is the product of emotional ranting and sloppy intellect.

If he had made accusations that did not indict all of an entire coaching tree, he would have my ear. But due to it's flaws, I have to disregard this statement in it's entirety.

Why the hell are professional football teams using the same signals for multiple games?

I suppose because it would be a lot of work to change signals or have multiple groups of signals that can be changed out.

I suspect it also increases the risk of error significantly.  There are many very intelligent players in the game. But if we're being honest plenty more that tend towards the opposite side of the intelligence spectrum.  Having players memorize different signal systems from week to week or month to month would be a lot of work and if players can't seemlessly from one set of signals to another, the reward doesn't outweigh the risk.  You can't have most your online men pulling one way and one pulling the other.

Players on the field absolutely also have hand signals to relay information... And the Green Dot call is basically going to be the meat and potatoes of the call

The positional coaches in situations are also giving hand signals or gestures relaying more information Occasionally... Like they might see something in the alignment and signal bracket coverage

If You're on the road at Ralph Wilson stadium where it's hard to hear you might have to rely on gestures and hand signs occasionally.. sometimes the mic goes down.. so you need to have hand signs

And the QB mics cut out before each play when there is 15 seconds left on the play clock. Not sure if that happens for the defensive green dot mic or not.

Not the same in the least but Ive coached youth and high school football for years.  I call the offense.  All the plays are assigned a number and I use hand signals to relay the number to the QB.  That number correlates to the play call on his wristband.

At halftime I switch both my call sheet and the QBs play card in his wrist band to change the numbers.  This way the coaches on the other team cant steal the signal and know the play.

Ive coached 12 years olds that have no trouble with this.  The numbers are new every game, and switched every game at halftime.   If a NFL coach cant figure out a system with dummy signals or cant make changing the signals easy on his players he probably shouldnt be coaching in the NFL.
