We’re scoring points, so I can’t complain too much—but doesn’t it feel like we have a lot of predictable 2nd-down runs that go nowhere and start slow? Came back strong vs. the Ravens, but it’d be nice to open things up earlier. Against the Jets it didn’t matter, but I’m still waiting to see more schemed explosive plays in the passing game, especially early. Similar issues as last year. What do you guys think?

i hate second down runs! But I don’t mind them against the jets. I thought the game plan was perfect for this particular opponent.

I do think we will see them go down field a lot more this week against Miami.

Josh said in his presser they wanted to run the ball well and they did.

I think we scored a TD on the opening drive. 10 points in the first 10 minutes  of the game. Moved the ball throughout. Ran well and hit timely passes. Didn't commit turnovers or stupid costly penalties. That's a recipe to win football games

It's not exciting...but but I'll take 18 more boring games that we grind out 30+ points and a win.

I think if your offense scores 36 points a game and you're complaining about the offensive play calling, the issue is more about you than it is the play caller.

Right? Why do people have to nitpick? Enjoy the win. People that complain after a win should have to watch at least 4 Bills drought era games in a row before they are allowed to post again. 🤣

I think Brady’s never going to call games like Daboll did, and I predict you’re going to continue to be disappointed if you wish that’s gonna happen.

This is a team that is going to have to hide a bad defense against good teams in the playoffs and rely on keeping games close for Josh Allen to have a chance to win the game at the end. This offense and a few big plays/turnovers on defense is our formula to beat more talented teams.

I get it to a point.  The game was boring.  But the game wasnt boring because of the Bills.  The game was boring because the Jets never got off the bus.  They were horrid.   Why bother putting your QB in danger when the other team cant stop your run game and their offense was designed for Otto Graham.   The Jets arent in the Bills league.  Just win and get out of there without injuries.

They are scoring. I’m not worried!

Hopefully, the D continues to improve as the season plays out. I believe this is why many get worked up about the playcalling as they feel like the D isn’t gonna get stops.

It’s about putting games away early and managing game flow better. I’d love to see us start fast, force teams to throw, and let our blitz loose. A few bad bounces could bite us otherwise. It seems obvious that we are capable of this, also. Again—not about today we obviously wanted to run against them, could, and it took their pass rush away.

I think the problem you’re looking at is efficiency versus explosive. You want explosive and fun and the Bills want efficient and balance.

Both can be effective ways of winning football games. You could see people in the GDT getting frustrated that we were being “conservative”, but we were up 17-20 points most of the day and the Bills had a good beat on the Jets and how to stop them offensively

I agree with you.

But then I look at the weapons Brady has: an All-World QB and a fairly average squad beyond that.  Averaging 36 points per game doesn't seem like a bad outcome.

Weird analogy but...  My college had a game room full of pinball machines.  For a while, I thought I was the best player on campus.  I had the high score on a bunch of the most popular machines and could do all sorts of fancy slap-saves, shots, and passes.  But then some hip-looking transfer student started breaking my records.  I was confused because while his slap saves were as good as mine, he didn't have the same shots as I did and would never even pass the ball from one paddle to another.  His skills didn't look impressive, yet he'd put up great scores.

Finally, I asked him his secret.  He explained it to me.  "It's all about rhythm.  You do some cool passes and back-handed shots, but you're all stop-and-go.  For me, it's all continual action, more like music.  That's why I'm better than you."

That's kind of how I think about Brady.  It doesn't always look pretty, but I think there's an unseen wisdom in what he's doing.

I think you bring up good points as I'm not going to just look at the scoreboard and see 30 plus points and say the OC has been great.

Ravens game last week I thought he was awful. Josh literally put on the cape and put on an all world performance.

Today it's tricky to judge. I personally want to see more play action and being more aggressive. But at the same time I can understand them playing it a bit more conservative based on how the game script was going.

Since Brady has taken over. I have never been happy with the passing offense overall. Too disjointed and reliant on Allen making hero plays. No real flow and far too up and down.

However, even despite that if they can put up 30pts come the postseason need the defense to step up and kept the opposing QB under this amount.

Translation ......... I've got Allen in my fantasy league and I need him to throw more

I have questions about  Samuel, that's about it.

I think that's fairly obvious.

Moore offers more than Samuel at this point. I think they are about on the same level. However Moore adds ST snaps and Samuel has a bonus related to how many games he's active for. Keeping Samuel shelved really doesn't hurt the offense, but it saves us a bit of cash each week against his already bloated contract.
