Lamar is about as low IQ as they come.

That being said...he has figured out how to play the game and the QB position better than I would have ever imagined him doing, so in that regard he does deserve some credit. I think it does show in in crucial spots like lastnight and against top teams/playoffs, but more than less he is scary to go up against.

On the other hand, I still say the talent around him (mostly Henry) is what elevated him and has given him easy reads and open receivers for the most part.

He will never be equals with the top passers at the position regardless of the stats, but in this day and age you'll have those that will simply use the stats argument and will proclaim him the best

If you guys are lets say out and about and you see Josh standing next to you in line....would you get star struck?

I certainly hope not. He’s a guy who is really good at playing football. He also seems to be a really good person, but that’s nothing to be star struck over.

If he’s at a table at a restaurant, I would hope people would just leave him alone. I’d be disappointed there, of course. Being rich is the good part of being rich and famous. We’ve known some famous people, and going out in public becomes a problem.

Lamar's look and sound and personality all is classic American Black subculture, and Josh is classic white suburban mainstream culture. The majority of the viewers are white mainstream, so Josh is the guy the advertisers want.  Gatorade and Oakley actually are going for the cool, subculture, athlete image (which sells to the subculture and also to the young male cool-jock wannabes), so Lamar is great for them.

Pretty much.   Justin Herbert has been in more commercial since the Chargers made the playoffs last season for the same reasons that Allen is all over the media these days.

There's a lot to unpack in that post.  I'm not even taking it out of the box.  Taped it back up and returned to sender.

I agree.  Wise move.

Ever notice how many tv commercial senior citizens or people suffering from chronic illnesses or accident survivors all look so good???

The thread exposes where some are at.

If you mean racism i don't see it and I am very much against hate.  I can't always understand him and he is not exactly a pretty man.

Tyson did dr squath soap.  But he's the champ.

Steve Buscemi has a Michelob ad but the rest are for promoting his movies or voice only.  He does have a new one in Australia for a mobile network but he's disguised as an alien and covered in latex or whatever.  Love Buscemi.

Sexy sells.  Everyone knows these things.  See Joe Montana amd jordon in their tighty whities.  I mean, not sexy to me but to many.  Heh

When Seal and Heidi were married, radio DJ Don Geronimo interviewed Heidi, and Don flat out asked her if she ever licks his facial birthmark. He's been known to ask and do outrageous things.

I'm actually a huge Lamar fan.  Seems like a really cool dude.

What really strikes me is how he reacts when he loses heartbreakers.  In both this past game & the playoff game, he rushed right up to Josh w/ a smile on his face and gave him a very friendly congrats & hug.  And I've seen him do that in other games, like last night against Detroit.  He's a good sport.

That stands in contrast to what we saw from Mahomes in a similar kind of close loss.

You wouldn't be talking about when he pretty much ignores Josh so he could parade around yelling about the "effin (get this) REFS"?  That game?

I find it hard to dislike  Lamar … I respect his talents … although wouldn’t swap our guy for him ….

I don’t have much problem hating on a lot of his teams fans though

He may not articulate sentences with the grace of an English aristocrat but he seems to have at leave average IQ if not higher levels of quick thinking to that of the average man. QBs that are truly dumb rarely last more than a couple years because they can’t grasp playbooks or how to read defenses.

Lamar seems like a nice guy, not someone with acting or modeling aspirations in his post career days but I could see him being a coach of some kind after he’s done running all over the field on Sundays. He has always come across as a graceful loser and winner which isn’t necessarily common and he’s the best running QB in the NFL.

Josh just happens to be akin to the “Adonis” of football men’s dreams. He’s a quick witted and intelligent, 6’5” farm boy that both sounds and looks like the ideal player. I’d imagine most of, if not all, QBs would love to have Josh Allen’s physical attributes and talent. That doesn’t mean though that all other QBs are dumb or bad.

I think Lamar is a fantastic QB, a future hall-of-famer, and it's only a matter of time before he wins the Super Bowl (same as Josh).  I love how both he and Josh have surpassed expectations and defied the stereotypes that some people tried to hang on them.  Yes, Lamar isn't the most telegenic or charismatic guy and that's probably why you don't see him in a ton of commercials.  I'm sure him not having an agent doesn't do him any favors either.  But, again, he's a great player and seems like a good dude, so I don't understand why some need to constantly deride him.

'black subculture' wtf

How else would you describe it? There is as well an Asian subculture, a Spanish subculture, a Bosnian subculture, a white culture as well, etc etc, all in America, you know the melting pot of the rest of the world,

If you want to be in commercials you have to put in the work that’s required to be in commercials. It’s no different than anything else. With that said, why does anyone think that Lamar wants to be in commercials? Has he expressed an interest? Has he taken the steps to get there? What if he just wants to be a really good football player? There’s nothing wrong with that.

I found Tom Brady very unattractive and frightening in appearance and mannerisms .
