I'd even be the away team in Toronto instead of going somewhere farther. For a PR Marketing guy he sure can say the wrong though. Thats the real issue… the NFL doesn’t consider a Canadian game part of the “international” series of suck games. They just consider it as another Bills’ home game. Even Jacksonville, who has done all they can to claim London as theirs… still gets to consider some of their London games as away. If a game in Toronto had the Bills play as the away team, I’m sure it would be better received by Bills Mafia, overall, and especially season ticket holding fans. 1 Quote

As far as the NFL is concerned they have the Toronto and Vancouver market covered with Buffalo and Seattle. Montreal isn't anywhere near as crazy for NFL as the other two cities. NFL has maxed out Canada. Only thing the NFL wants from Toronto is more money pouring into Highmark Stadium from Toronto on Game Day. Toronto has nothing else to offer the NFL. It absolutely does otherwise it wouldn't have bailed out the CFL in 1997. NFL saved the CFL from going under. NFL wants to grow the game of football globally and there is value to having a league where guys can potentially evolve to playing in the NFL. NFL might not give a crap about the CFL as a competitive league but it absolutely wants it to exist. Wrong. Toronto is the 4th largest city in North America. It has plenty to offer the NFL. How long do you think Canadians are going to continue to cross the border given the current climate down there? I personally know of 4 sets of longterm Bills season ticket holders who decided not to renew in the new stadium. I appreciate you suffer from that well established City of Buffalo fear of losing your professional sports teams given the city's 5 decade long economic decline however to say Toronto would not be a great new NFL franchise is pure homerism. The Bills are NOT going anywhere. Why the fear bro? 1 1 1 Quote
Sojourner Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I wondered if that was the whole reason Vince Carter and Jozy Altidore were brought on… Huge ties to Toronto between those two. Quote

Why? The 9th home game every other year is considered an International game designation almost. Are you saying you'd prefer them to go to London, Brazil, Germany or somewhere halfway around the world instead of 90 minutes away by car? 1 Quote

I think the international games are to grow the games’ popularity (ie attract some deep-pocketed NFL benefactors in other countries). Haven’t we already tried this in Canada many times before. I think they have to be well aware of the NFL product by now. I don’t see the point of more Canadian games. Quote
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Sure he'd consider it. He doesn't want to alienate any Canadian fans. But let me know when it actually happens. It's a great PR statement to make! 1 1 Quote
SCBills Posted September 14 Posted September 14 If this becomes part of the international games and prevents us from going to Australia or wherever, ok. If not, what a slap in the face to the fans. Quote
Cheektowaga Chad Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I'll think positively and believe that this is a some of the people who pay my salary have deep ties to Toronto and don't want to upset them or say anything that puts down Toronto Because we have done the Toronto experiment and it was a massive on field failure Quote
May Day 10 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I was hoping he meant this to be our international commitment. His direct quotes surely point to a resurrection of that stupid bills in Toronto series. Guelli is a dumbass. One of those "sports management" fakes who have made a career out of kissing the right ass and making sure he is in the right place at the right time. Uses all the management 101 buzzwords to sound smart. Pegula loves that stuff. Guelli = Russ Brandon Quote
17islongenough Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Just have 17 neutral sites games a year. Each team plays 8 home, 8 away and 1 neutral. Have the Bills every year in Canada. 1 Quote

Steptide Posted September 14 Posted September 14 An away pre season game, sure, anything else would be absurd after building a new stadium 2 Quote

Definitely possible. It was Vince Carter who announced the info.... https://www.buffalobills.com/news/mlse-and-buffalo-bills-announce-partnership-to-engage-canadian-fans-and-grow-the-game-of-football 1 Quote

Doc Brown Posted September 14 Posted September 14 If they force us to do an International game every four years or so then I'd prefer a game in Canada rather than Iraq or something. 1 Quote

Oh man, the whole franchise might collapse because a handful of Canadians are coming up with melodramatic, phony reasons for why they dont want to pay for more expensive tickets next year. 1 hour ago, Big Turk said: Are you saying you'd prefer them to go to London, Brazil, Germany or somewhere halfway around the world instead of 90 minutes away by car? Yes. Any Bills flirtation with the city of Toronto puts them one step closer to ultimately moving there. Edited September 14 by T.E. Quote
