Thank you for being a voice of reason.

There are exactly four teams we should "worry"  about.

KC, BAL, Philly and Cincinnati.

Tampa Bay, esp when they get Godwin and Evans healthy will be a problem unless our back 7 improves. @ Pittsburgh could be a problem with Watt .  @ Houston - they did beat us last year.

That leaves 27 teams that, in general, can kiss our ass any given Sunday. The Jets are one of them.

Can they win? Sure. Should they win? No.

I would take Cincinnati off that list. They have a good offense at the skill positions. They have trash on their OL. Their defense makes ours look like the 85 Bears.

I would expect a shootout for sure but something like Bills-48 Bengals 30.

Reading what I have so far on the jets it seems Brandon Stephens and Tony Adams had pretty bad games.  If the Bills can protect up front I would imagine they are going to throw the ball early to setup the run late.  Apparently their linebackers Sherwood and williams struggled in coverage also.

Seems like the Gameplan here to beat the jets would be to get an early lead and force the jets to throw the football, they look like they can run block as well as anyone but might have some issues in pass protection if they are throwing 30+ times.  So I guess at its basic level the Bills coming out and attacking the linebackers and safeties with Knox, Kincaid and Shakir could set the table for everything else.

Have to block that front though and it looks pretty damn good.

Most importantly, I appreciate this post and generally agree, on paper.

But, I'm a believer of "any given sunday" and therefore I'm rolling with "one game at a time".

Interesting stats from NFL week 1:

Top scoring teams:

1.  Buffalo 41

2. Baltimore 40

3. Pittsburgh 34

4. Indianapolis 33

5. NY Jets  32

The other 27 teams scored between 6 & 27 points, with an average of 17.8 points per team.

The Bills & Jets games were by far the highest scoring games in week one.

Defense will be the emphasis for both team’s practices this week.

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6611454/2025/09/09/aaron-glenn-jets-opening-loss/

The Aaron Glenn Jets did something on Sunday that hasn’t been done since … the Aaron Glenn Jets.

Against the Steelers, the Jets scored 32 points and held the ball for 32 minutes.  Before Sunday, the Jets were 53-1 when they scored at least 30 points and held the ball for at least 32 minutes, according to Football Perspective. The one loss? That came in 1998, when the Jets lost in Week 1 to the 49ers 36-30 in overtime. Glenn, a Jets corner, had to cover Jerry Rice that day.

Did pretty good on parlays I advise to colleague last week... So I'll come up with a few here.

Shakir +50 yards

Coleman +40 yards

Hall TD

Allen 2 TD

Wilson +70 yards

Last week I had

Henry td

Allen TD

Cook td

Jackson +30 yards

Allen +25 yards

$15 won 168

I failed

Henry TD

Jackson +40

Coleman +30

Knox +15

... Because I said Ty Johnson gets a TD.

He had it on his finger tips. $5 would have won $333

I understand the betting smarts behind adding something like a Henry TD into a parlay for last Sundays game but man I always feel dirty needing certain opponents to do well.

I hit a good one on the Vikings comeback game a couple years ago with one of the legs being a Dalvin Cook TD. When he broke off that 80+ yarder I was pumped as the game seemed well in hand for the Bills at the time. In retrospect though, after the epic collapse, I always hated myself for that moment of joy when Cook broke away for that score so I just can't do it anymore.

If you're gonna bet against us bet on the inevitable. Henry was going to score from 10 yards+ and Jackson was gonna score anything short.

Something about this game makes me nervous.  While Fields and Hall aren't Lamar and Henry, they still seem to run the same read-option offense that we can struggle with.  The defense has been known to give Josh fits and we are coming off a very emotional win.

I'm hoping this isn't a letdown game, but wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

I think the defense will come out looking to correct the narrative. Plus, they know Hall gives them fits.

If Taron is not ready, do we think Cam Lewis is the next man up or is there a chance that Hancock starts?

I'd love to see him on the field.

Strong, I imagine, could also be a dark horse NB starter.
