4merper4mer Posted September 6 Posted September 6 I agree with Coolzabanga or whatever that name is……will be a tough watch. Dude was a great actor and his characters were very endearing. 1 Quote
HereComesTheReignAgain Posted September 6 Posted September 6 John Candy is a legend. One of the best in his field and from all accounts a great guy. 1 1 Quote

boater Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Belushi, Farley, Candy, etc. Why are the great ones overweight, abuse substances, and die before their time? Quote

Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison; having lots of money at a time when drugs were prevalent and accepted took down many. Being overweight just increased their health risks. Quote

I liked him in the Home Alone 2 movie as a polka king 🙂 I was sad when he died. Gone too soon I'll watch this with some good weed and some kleenex. 1 Quote
Poleshifter Posted September 10 Posted September 10 I loved John Candy. Some great movies, like Stripes, Planes Trains etc. But my favorite role was as The Schmenge Brothers, where they introduce themselves, each pronouncing Schmenge in a different way. Subtle humor, but it really got me. Yosh and Stan - Rick Moranis the other Schmenge bro, IIRC. That was on SCTV, and then a final movie The Last Polka. 1 Quote
ChevyVanMiller Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Here's a great pic of an 18-year-old John Candy at Niagara Falls in 1969. 2 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Cant wait to watch this. Already a little bummed out, but will be worth the watch. If any other 80s kids havent seen the Paul Rubens/Pee Wee documentary, I 100% recommend watching it asap. Another amazing person and talent. Same heroin dealer sold Joplin and Morrison the overpowered stuff that killed them, and I'm always interested in the possibility that Hendrix was killed by his manager. Quote

BillsFan4 Posted September 12 Posted September 12 This looks great. Makes me feel nostalgic. John Candy is still one of my all time favorite actors. Thanks for sharing OP! I’m definitely going to watch this when it hits prime video. 1 Quote
BuffaloBillsGospel2014 Posted September 12 Posted September 12 I'm actually looking forward to this, John was my top 3 actors back then. One of my favorite movies of all time Canadian Bacon. "Wine drinkers. Pea soup eaters. French Canadians!". Quote
