17islongenough Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Pretty sure they had to do this to get under the cap. Does the player get less money on this because of taxes? As he would have to pay NY taxes on the full amount. Compared to splitting it amongst different states that they play in with lower income taxes? 1 Quote
buffblue Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Definitely seemed like a formality but I thought it would've happened sooner. Spotrac had the Bills as 31st in cap space. Not a lot of wiggle room Quote
GunnerBill Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I think they might have done this last week to be under the cap at cutdowns and it has only been announced now. Because my maths had then over the cap. 1 Quote

But i doubt this changes his game checks for the season tbh. I know with Von his "pay cut" influenced how much he was fined because that is off of base salary, but I don't think moving cap space does much for actual cash flow in and out. Blackbeard Posted 49 minutes ago Posted 49 minutes ago Most teams, including the Bills, will need to reassess personnel after a few games in. Freeing up cap allows for the last minute signings, ala Amari Cooper, etc. Quote
