Pretty sure they had to do this to get under the cap.

 

Does the player get less money on this because of taxes?  As he would have to pay NY taxes on the full amount. Compared to splitting it amongst different states that they play in with lower income taxes?

Definitely seemed like a formality but I thought it would've happened sooner. Spotrac had the Bills as 31st in cap space. Not a lot of wiggle room

I'm not sure - when you sign and get a signing bonus possibly?  But i doubt this changes his game checks for the season tbh.  

 

I know with Von his "pay cut" influenced how much he was fined because that is off of base salary, but I don't think moving cap space does much for actual cash flow in and out.
