SF Bills Fan Posted September 6 Posted September 6 For a while I’ve been thinking we’d lose because Baltimore is very good and revenge factor. But I think we will win. Ravens are usually slow to start the season It’s in Buffalo and the last home opener in the Ralph (Rich!) history- huge advantage. People are probably steady partying there. Jackson will make plays but turn it over at key times. Josh won’t make mistakes. Bossa will be big for us. He will want to prove his worth. The Ravens on paper are better but something about them is always off. They also lost their kicker who was great. The NFL decides when they want a team to win. Don’t be surprised when some funny calls go our wsy at key times. There will be lots of shots of Josh”s movie star wife. He is America’s golden boy right now. It’s going our way. I’ll go 24-21. 1 1 Quote
finn Posted September 6 Posted September 6 The Bills protect their fragile secondary by hitting Henry in the backfield and flustering Lamar with the blitz. Meanwhile, a balanced, efficient Bills offense marches down the field again and again. A comfortable win for the Bills, 30-20. (Post-game commentary: endless excuses for Lamar's struggles--Ricard! Likely! Jaire!--shrugs for Allen's impressive 3-TD game.) 1 1 Quote

Albwan Posted September 6 Posted September 6 (edited) Defense really concerns me. Ravens are better all around, unfortunately. Josh keeps them in it but Ravens 35, Bills 24 Edited September 6 by Albwan 1 Quote

Peace Frog Posted September 7 Posted September 7 My heart says 27-24 Buffalo. My head says 27-19 Baltimore. 1 Quote
MikePJ76 Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Ravens 38 Bills 20 Its hard to protect two safeties and a starting corner. It's even harder when playing a veteran group on offense with no weakness. 1 1 Quote

Mister Defense Posted September 7 Posted September 7 (edited) I was very happy during and after the last NFL draft--the Bills went heavily for defense, their clear need, needing a revamped secondary and D-line. It was the closest draft to what I had hoped for in memory. But the reality for me was that I wanted 2 starting caliber outside cornerbacks in the first 4 rounds--as the cupboard was almost bare for the Bills at outside CB. After Benford--no starter at all, and just as troubling, almost zero quality depth. Even with a high round pick, they would still be one injury away from a very detrimental defensive backfield. I commented on that need in several threads before the draft, and was very disappointed to see Tre White, who is no longer a starting CB from what I had seen, was signed as one of the options. If the Bills started White, I had thought, they would be in a very bad place. Super Bowl hopes diminished. All one had to do was look at their schedule and imagine White lined up against some of the most dynamic, best receivers in the game. Untenable. He simply could not cover some of those players consistently, meaning lots of big plays and scores by the opposition. Now, that awful answer, of White playing a lot of meaningful snaps, is best case scenario? But then he, of course, was injured. The cupboard is extremely bare. I am big a Beane supporter, but this was a mistake--any layman could see they were one injury away from TRE WHITE starting, and two injuries away from...Ingram? Strong, a very raw roookie? Unacceptable. The run defense should be better, and the offense excellent, but very hard to beat such a dynamic offense like the Ravens with what appears to be an almost catastrophic set of circumstances--and decisions--on the CB front. While the Ravens may have one of the best secondaries in the league, loaded with 1st round picks. Brain says: Ravens 35, Bills 31 My heart and my homer say Bills 30, Ravens 28. So, WTF, I will go with that! They will need some turnovers and for the offense to be clicking on all cylinders. But Beane better get someone in here to play CB, a few players probably, and soon... Coastie Posted September 7 Posted September 7 I think the second half is going to get nuts somehow and turn this into a shootout. Bills 33, Ravens 27 1 1 Quote
