That is an insane contract. Wow. Packers really mortgaging their future here but 2025 looks very promising. I could see them making the SB.

IIRC Parsons was questionable for that game due to some carriage issue, maybe a hip? Our strategy was completely correct but that game he looked to me to be struggling with his own issues and not just the way we went at him.

$47M a year is a LOT of money for Micah.  IDK that I could've gone above $40M.   Can Love be good enough to lead his team to the promised land?  I dont think he can.

I don't think he can either, but remember that the Packers are one of Goodell's darlings

I prefer the middle route.  Instead of 50 mil/year a top 3 non QB guy, maybe get 2 or 3 elite players in the 15-20 range.   Beane usually just likes to shopping at the bargain basement.  The one time he did swing for the fences on the Von Miller deal it turned into a big flop.  But at the same time he had the sneaky good signing of Leonard Floyd who got us 10.5 sacks for like 8.5 million.

Fair points.i would argue middle of the road gets you to the playoffs.  Elite wins championships. Chiefs have had multiple elite pieces on offense and defense. We were close with Allen, Diggs, Miller, White,  and Milano before the injuries.

To the $47M is too much crowd, we’re spending that much on Von’s dead cap, our backup TE, our #3 DE, and our #4? WR who’s always injured.

I know perfection isn’t realistic and crap happens, but Beane’s had too many wasted 1st-3rd picks and bad signings. I’d trade all the picks and cap space for an elite DE.

We can't stop the run now.

We play with the lead a lot.

Two number 1s for the second best pass rusher in the league.

I make that deal in a heart beat. Two generational players in Allen and Parsons -  one on offense and one on defense.

Beane refuses to go all in, instead hoarding late round draft picks so he can waste them next year

F!!!!!!

On the other side, bad trade for Dallas.

To be fair, Bean does pretty good with the late round picks, finding quite a few diamonds in the rough. It’s the early round premium picks he normally wastes.

Yeah. Truly brutal.

Jerry is officially the worst owner in football.

Sad.

The Cowboys defense sucked with Micah Parsons.  No way you pay that guy $47 million per.  They get 2 first rounders and a dam good DT.

And Parsons gets to freeze his ass off in the frozen tundra.  Good for Jerry..

They drafted all their elite guys.  Mahomes, Chris Jones, McDuffy.   They opted not to pay Tyreek Hill.

I probably woulda considered paying Parsons 40 mil per year if he were a guy we drafted and developed, but giving away 2 1st rd draft picks and paying him that much would be a hard pill to swallow.

In general, I wish Beane made more deals. Id rather pay known commodities top dollar than constantly taking swings (and a lot of misses) at draft picks.

BUT, in this particular case, Parsons is a run game liability... as much as @DrDawkinstein doesnt want to admit it.

This shows just how putrid the Cowboys def. line actually was. Imo

I do think the Packers underpaid. Clark is still a good player and probably will be for another 3 years.   The two first rounders obviously makes sense. If I was Dallas I would have asked for a mid round pick and maybe a late round pick as well.

I think Parsons for Clark, 2026 1st, 2027 1st , 2026 4th, and 2027 6th makes the optics look a lot better.

With that said, I do think Parsons is one dimensional to receive that kind of money and don’t really blame Dallas for moving him at that salary. They just didn’t get enough . He isn’t a good run defender and the Packers actually got weaker in that regard with this trade in my opinion. He is obviously a menace as a pass rusher but I’m not sure he helps them win a big game against a team like the Eagles

Von had 8 sacks in 11 games before he tore his ACL. I still think it was a good signing that got screwed by bad circumstances

Just imagine throwing 50 million a year and 2 first rounders at Parsons then he suffers a season ending injury beginning of the year.   I fear that's the kinda luck the Bills would have with such a deal.

Can you imagine what a relief it must be for Parsons tonight, and how happy he must be?

-He completely won the public contract dispute, simply by giving an accurate description of what happened. The more Jones talked the less Parsons needed to.

-Parsons is earning almost $200 million the next four years, the most ever for a non quarterback. Almost all guaranteed.

-He is now playing for a good defense in Green Bay, one that dramatically improved last year. And he is not playing on a defense that imploded last year, getting squashed even at home again and again.

-Out of the limelight, moving from one of the most artificial atmospheres in the league, Dallas and ATT Stadium, to one of the most genuine, Green Bay, Wisconsin and the grass of Lambeau Field.

--And best of all, no more jerry jones and the dysfunctional culture he creates.  He will never have to do business with him again.

I am sure he has good friends and colleagues in Dallas, but I bet Parsons is ecstatic about how this turned out.

47 mil per year is too steep a price, plus you are losing 2 1st rounders??

No way the Bills could or would do this, IMO.

It’s not about that.  That can happen to anyone.

he is a pain in the ass and is not well liked in the locker room.  This is probably the underlying reason they did this, the locker room was probably happy to be rid of his constant drama.  He does a podcast on mondays after games and calls out teammates.  He said all kinds of negative stuff about Prescott then acted like he didn’t.

he needs attention and it will be interesting to see how he fits in Green Bay.  His personality screams it’s a bad fit.  He is one of these guys who is obsessed with his “brand”.

Green Bay better win big.  Their head coach and general manager have two years left and they have a new boss above them.  They are all in now and have to win big.

And I'd argue paying almost 50M/yr to a non-QB eventually forces you into a position where you can't compete because you're so capped out.

The main thing I like about McBeane's way is we get to compete every year. The Von signing and Diggs extension almost got in the way of that.

Yeah and Parsons was part of the reason it was putrid.
