Without any franchise QB, all teams struggle.

Right? People act like Gardner Minshew would lead the Chiefs to the SB because their defense is so good.

Allen covers a lot of issues, but the team is very good.

Jordan P. & Jordan P. are both players that love the Buffalo Bills and will do everything they can to help us get to the Superbowl.

In 2025 that most likely means mentoring the younger players more than taking the field.  I think it’s great how excited they are to be back as practice squad players.

With no talent around him on offense either.  Just Josh, all by himself

And our offensive line

Yup and you can quote me going all the way back to 2019 if you want

The lions share of the Bills success is due to Allen

Interesting last paragraph in the PFT report on Florio's site.  Not sure I believe it, but.....it is the only thing I could find other than a cousin of Jimmy who works in the Tim Horton's drive-thru and gets Beane his coffee everyday.

From PFT.....

"Last year Poyer started 16 games for the Dolphins, and the Bills will expect him to contribute right away despite missing all of the offseason. Poyer knows the defense, knows his coaches and knows his teammates, and he should be able to fit right in."

I don't know if that is a guess or not on PFT's part.  Usually, when it's worded like that, it means contribute to actually playing and being active.  Although, it could still mean the other way as well.

As long as he never plays and his wife doesn’t speak, it’s fine. He’s good for the “culture.”

what the hell did Justin Simmons do? Is he washed or did he do something awful? Guy was an all pro like 2 years ago.

yea there is no question they have been talking to poyer and phillips all along.

One of the Bills offseason videos they showed a golf outing and randomly Poyer was there on one hole - it was beat his score on that hole or something - but regardless it seems he was around this offseason.

Just wondering how many nfl vets you’ve spoken to about this?  It’s a nice paycheck. He went from making $0 to $21k a week to do what he loves with people that he loves.  Wake up

And potentially get a ring

Another simplistic take. So nothing the Bills do right on defense is because of the defense, it's all Josh Allen? Amazing the impact he has.

There isn’t a team in the league that is more dependent on one player, and it’s not even close. If you think this is a playoff team without him you are crazy

Any team with an elite QB is gonna be worse without him.

My understanding is that it's a spot specifically designated for veterans.

You're not going to develop anybody with it.

The nflpa loved this idea because it was designed for the vested players to keep making money vs giving it to the non-vested players who typically only survive 2 years max.

The NFL can't get away with increasing roster size because the nflpa is against it but they can add more to the PS if they promised it to be vested players.

Is a wife that doesn’t speak actually an option?

In a bizarro world where the Bills don't have Allen but have a top 10-15 QB instead, they're likely still division favorites and certainly perennial wildcard contenders.

He is washed, but probably doesn't accept that, so still wants to be paid well and promised a starting spot.

More than Poyer? Crazy how fast these dudes get washed. That’s why they need to get every cent when they can.

It also makes sense they improve the PS process as well as the IR process. I always thought it was stupid that the NFL IR system was that if you IR a player he's out for the season. So many guys would go on IR for injuries that would maybe keep them out for 2 months because teams simply couldn't burn a spot on the roster for 2 months. The PS only being for players with 2 or less vested seasons made little sense. Having a handful of veteran PS spots is just a smart way to construct rosters.

The old PS and IR systems needed major improvements. I think it's a win win for the players who now have a class of veteran players who can extend their careers and get more opportunities for marginal talents to get call ups for games here or there. While the teams have some more breathing room as far as numbers and roster construction.

They are both probably both washed, but Poyer knows the system.

is there a catalog?

Poyer is on the practice squad. Do you think Justin Simmons would do that?

And actually, Poyer was rated higher by PFF last year than Justin Simmons. I mean, take PFF with a grain of salt, but it shows how far Simmons has fallen.
