And there have been some really good ones: James Cook, Spencer Brown, Terrell Bernard, O'Cyrus Torrence, Dawson Knox, and the McDermott year it was Dion Dawkins. All core players. 

 

The Douglas trade saved the defense in 2023. Douglas while he wasn't great in 2024 he was good in 2023. A 3rd for a 5th swap to get a solid season at corner when that was a glaring in season need is not a waste. People are just looking for something to be wrong if they think AJE and Singletary were wastes of picks too. Cooper was a decent trade at the time, I think he did open up the offense a lot as teams still respected him but if you want to go by pure numbers then I won't argue. 

 

Sometimes it feels like fans are just stretching to look for things to complain about. It's not like you can't find some legit wasted picks like Boogie or Elam. But you also could find that with any GM. I get that you want some more home run mid-round picks but getting a solid single in AJE and Singletary does have value.

I swear I haven't heard Ulofoshio's name once since he was drafted. Not in a single practice or training camp report over two off-seasons. Strange. Not surprised to see him cut.

I can't tell if I'm missing sarcasm, lol. KJ Hamler has no bearing on the roster cut downs, and it says nothing about whether they carry both Moore and Shavers or drop one.

The Dane cut is a positive sign they like the chances for Tre and Mad Max to not miss much if any time. I also think it makes more sense to have Ingram or younger players with more upside making it. But I would like to see Dane on the PS if he clears. Dane's not the worst break glass in case of emergency depth player to have.

Serious question did you watch the Bears game. He didn't stay in his lane twice and allowed the returner to get the corner. It was really bad. I knew then he was getting cut.

I kind of expect Dane to be on the PS and activated for a couple games to start the season

He got hurt in camp his rookie year then did some Special Teams work last year but he didn’t progress at all.

My only surprise player that might make the team was Wilkerson if they cut Elijah Moore.  The dream is still alive as of now.

Every receiver they cut that’s not Shavers bodes well for him, IMO

Considering he's never returned punts much at any level, thats a pretty big stretch.  

 

A legit #6 at a position that many teams carry 5 at, is not saying much.  If you carry 6, to be active (usually only 5 will be active) - you have to be a gunner or a punt returner.  He did not look the part of gunner.

Wilkerson did look good. I was thinking he was this year’s Tyrel Shavers.  PS this season and hopefully a breakout next offseason. Hopefully they can keep him around.

He was hurt a bunch in college as well.  I never saw much from him in preseason that made him look like he could be a player.  Buffalo Joe last year, and then bringing in the vet in thompson likely made him expendable.  Thompsons the wrong side of 30, but i'd feel more comfortable with him coming in than a 2nd year guy at this stage.  You only keep the young guy if you could see him becoming something more than what he is.

Andreesen is fine for LB5 special teams, but that Bears game was brutal.  
 

I want no part of him out there in passing downs. 
 

Hopefully Shaq Thompson can be the primary MLB backup.  I’d feel way more comfortable with him in there for a game or two.

Dorian Williams should be the primary backup of both Milano and Bernard.

Not a real high bar because Moore looked like total Meh, but I thought Wilkerson looked much better. Not sure they were competing for the same spot, Wilkerson’s shot was at the spot Shavers earned. (for now)

Wilkerson will turn 29 this season. Don't think there's a breakout in his future.
