Hopkins was doing 1500 w Tom Savage and Brian Hoyer

DHop was elite longer than Diggs, was better than Diggs and is probably a first ballot HoFer.

I thought the question was if Diggs was good. Not if he was the undisputed best WR over the last 12 years.

My issue with Diggs was his playoff performances, particularly in elimination games. He was terrible. Elite regular season WR, but a ghost in the playoffs when we needed him most. That is a problem. To be truly elite, you need to show up in the playoffs when it matters.

i think the question was actually how good was he

a lot of people saying elite and im just not there. he was really good borderline great but not elite. hopkins was elite. julio jones was elite. tyreek hill was elite. mike evans was eliteish. antonio brown was elite. these are his contemporaries and i don't really put diggs into their category. he just wasn't the complete package- lacked ideal size and speed. great route tree, good hands, not really a threat w the ball in his hands...he just didn't have enough tools for me to say he was the best of the best.

Diggs averaged 66 YPG in the playoffs in Buffalo.

He also maybe had the best WR play of the decade in the playoffs in Minnesota.

Stop. I know his exit was bad. And that Bills fans dislike him bc of it. But he was great before his last year with the team. And he was great with us for the first half of that season. Even in Houston last season, he was on pace for a 1125 yard season had he not gone down after 7.5 games.

Of course his numbers with Josh were better than with Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Bradford, Case Keenum, and Kirk Cousins. Josh is a much better Quarterback than all of them. And it took a couple years before he became who he became in Minnesota and he missed over half the year last season.

Again, I get he's not well liked and for good reason. But discounting how great he was with us for 3 and a half years and how great he was before late 2023 is ridiculous. He was quite possibly the best WR to ever lineup for the Bills and the smoothest route runner I've probably ever seen.

This.

I think the stretch of his first 3ish years in Buffalo, he was elite.

unlike the other dudes you list, his peak was relatively short.

So maybe over the breadth of his career, he’s no DHop or Davante or Julio. He’s probably closer in that Keenan Allen tier below those dudes.

But I think it’s wrong to say he wasn’t elite when he was playing at an elite level. 2020 Diggs was on that level. That’s jmo.

Definitely the greatest 4 year stretch of production, but Moulds was the greatest. Imagine having a player like that during Allen’s years. He definitely would’nt be getting manhandled by smaller DBs in the postseason the way Diggs did year in, year out.

What did he average in the elimination games, which is what I actually referenced? And how many TDs?

Very good wideout

Not elite until he got here and fading quickly afterwards

To be fair he was having a great year last year before injury but he was arguably WR3 on that team, definitely WR2 behind Nico

Mounds would be an All pro every year with 17

Nico Collins actually reminds me of him and he's top 5 imo with a lesser QB

For me, I wouldn’t rewrite history as he was a top 5 WR when he came here, and eventually he aged and his drama didn’t help. He’s on the tail end of his career so I hope he can make some plays for NE, as I don’t hate the guy.

As an aside, a couple of years ago he was incredibly nice to my sister who was doing her banking in Hamburg.  Diggs was in the middle of a commercial, but stopped and spoke to her for several minutes.  He didn’t have to be nice, but was just kind to her.

Top Tier. But my hindsight is 20/20 and I would have loved to have drafted Justin Jefferson instead. Diggs did help Allen get better, no doubt.

"Moulds the greatest" ???? . . . How about that Andre Reed fellow, you know, HOF and all? 🤷‍♂️

I love Eric Moulds. But there's no question on who the more impactful WR was.

In Eric Moulds 10 years in Buffalo, he put up 9096 yards and 52 TD's - for an average of 909.6 yards and 5.2 TD's a year.

In Stefon Diggs 4 years in Buffalo, he put up 5372 yards and 37 TD"s - for an average of 1343 yards and 9.25 TD's a year.

Moulds was great. Diggs was on a different level.

How good was Randy Moss?

Well he had one season over 1300 yards with Brady, and 5 season over 1300 yards with Duante Culpepper.

So I guess the real question is who is really the GOAT? Looks like Culpepper is much better than Brady and Allen.

Wow I didnt know Diggs played defense too? Who was he covering with 13 seconds left to play?

Davis was the star of the 13 second game....Diggs had 3 catches with 7 yards. Yes, Diggs disappeared in the playoffs in BIG games.

Are we sure we want to talk about anybody associated with the Bills and how they do in elimination games as the sole factor if they are good or not?

He was the most important teammate of Josh’s career and helped push him from a player with immense talent into a perennial MVP candidate.  With the Bills, he was consistently a top 10 WR bordering on top 5 every year.  Don’t think he was ever a truly elite player, though.  His name will come up every year in HOF voting discussions, but I don’t see him getting in.  As 808 mentioned, there are just too many WRs in his era that had better overall careers than he did.  He’s also not going to have a fan base that is really pushing for him to get in.

He was elite against some teams...until the playoffs the last few years in Buffalo. He would disappear in big games as in his last game in 2023 against the Chiefs. Diggs had 8 targets for 3 receptions for 21 yards and a fumble. The Chiefs had their best CB on him for the first half of that game and then moved him to cover Shakir in the second half.

Shakir had 9 targets for 7 receptions for 44 yards, 1 TD. That one touchdown by Shakir in the second half was the ONLY touchdown of the entire season allowed by KC CB L'Jarius Sneed.

Diggs was good until he wasn't...and a drama queen.

He will probably look good at the beginning of the season for NE and then drop off as the season goes on.

i was going to say the same thing.  he was great during the regular season, and to be fair to Diggs, they (Josh Allen) really made each other better at times.  Until the playoffs.  he was invisible.  I'd rather have the reverse.

Both players 25-29 year old seasons, which are both's best samples. Moulds was not nearly as big a D-Bag on top of the era adjustment and YPC on Moulds. More of a playmaker than Diggs with worse QB's. Moulds all day.
