DeepPass Posted August 9 Posted August 9 A. Official attendance listed at 69,835? To me it looked like a disappointingly much smaller crowd for Kids Day. B. Both the Bill's new kickers looked good. Brad Robbins averaged 53 yards on 6 punts while temporary place-kicker Davis (not Ray) made all his kicks and put 4 in the designated kick-off return zone. C. Keon Coleman had 1 catch for zero yards. Shavers had 2 for 70 yards. What's up?? D. LB Keonta Jenkins led the Bills with 6 tackles. Jimmy Ciarlo, the former Army team Captain, added 4 tackles. He's 6'3" and 220 lbs. as a LB. E. An entire pre-season game without a sack for the Bills is tough to swallow! 4 Quote

He's definitely in the mix for a PS spot if I'm making the call. Shavers was in for a lot more snaps then Keon. I'm not panicking quite yet. Coleman has looked good in camp. He's still got time to carry it over. Preferably when Josh is in there. 2 Quote
Fan boy '92 Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Yep, defensive line was a no show and the Giants front 4 held the Bills in check to say the least. First preseason game out of the way at least. Quote

BigAl2526 Posted August 10 Posted August 10 (edited) Keonta Jenkins is a 211 lb linebacker. I know the Bills tend to go for lighter, faster linebackers, but 211 lbs is a bit extreme even for them. Both of the Bills' starting linebackers, Milano and Bernard, have had some injury issues as lighter linebackers. If Jenkins makes the team (unlikely) or the PS, will the Bills try to get him to add some muscle? The alternative might be to see if he can convert to something of a hybrid DB/LB. This would be concerning even if for only a drive or two. Edited August 10 by stevestojan Quote

Bills only allowed like 79 yards rushing, but Giants qbs weren't pressured really at all with zero sacks. Quote

Seemed like the guy calling plays on the other team knew how to attack soft coverage. Most of the plays were quick hitters, defense didn’t get a chance. 1 Quote

BobbyC81 Posted August 10 Posted August 10 I know it was the first preseason game, defensive game plan is vanilla, but the failures to hold the edge, the lack of a pass rush and the continuing 3rd down issues are items to monitor. 3 Quote

First preseason game out of the way at least. On the 2pt conversion and a 4th down TD play, the Giant QBs had 5-6 seconds to find their receivers - waaaay too much time . . . and our DL's were 'dancing' with the O-Lineman. Pathetic rush! Granted - Babich want to see which of his DL can get there in a traditional rush, so I am not panicking yet; but if this is how we'll be lining up and playing - we're in trouble. Babich needs to dial-up a different 4 . . . drop a lineman into coverage and bring a backer or DB just to give the offense something to think about. 2 Quote
davefan66 Posted August 10 Posted August 10 No way was there 69K fans on the stands. Many open seats in my section with people spread out and being comfortable. Lot 7 was nowhere near full. 1 1 Quote

For the limited amount of snaps he was out there, Bosa was a straight up demon. If he can keep that come the regular season teams will have to focus on him more and that should open opportunities from Oliver/Groot and the youngins. I thought our two young DTs showed well. Honestly, I don't see any reason why DaQuan Jones lasts as the starter over Sanders. The big concern I have coming out of this game is Landon Jackson. He has a LOT of work to do to get better IMO. 1 Quote

Well, it’s a preseason game, so not a whole hell of a lot can be determined from it, real game dynamics were not in play, ie; no Josh Allen, which directly effects how an opponent plays us, me I’m gonna get myself a cocktail and hang with the wife, 😁🍸🚬 Quote
SCBills Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Surprised at how good TJ Sanders, Deone Walker and Jordan Hancock looked. Paired with hearing good things out of camp about those three and we could really have something there. Surpised at how meh Landon Jackson looked, along with DeWayne Carter seeming like the same mediocre player he was last year. Worried about our last two 3rd Round Picks with both having warning signs continue from when they were drafted (Carter undersized and washed out against the run easily & Jackson high cut, rigid and tight hips). 1 1 Quote
