Why are you so reluctant to give him a couple million more to make him feel wanted? Penny pinching while we went over the top on the D-line. You guys deserve the mediocrity we’ve dealt with since Thurman. 5 Quote

Cook isn't better, he has a better line. We swap out Cook with Davis and we won't miss a beat. Davis has been a better receiver and harder runner. Cook is screwing it up by asking for too much. 5 minutes ago, HamptonBillsfan said: Cook is better and has produced in the postseason. You’re embarrassing yourself with these frivolous mutterings. What season stats does Davis have as a featured back. He had one good game. A better receiver and a harder runner? Cook had 16 TDs and 1000yds on 200 carries. Do you just gag up these silly comments for shock value. This is useless. 1 Quote

Rockpile233 Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I think it’s more likely that Beane doesn’t want to pay this market rate on Cook. Seems hard to believe Cook’s camp is so delusional based on his role and production as to expect a significantly higher contract than this Williams deal. 1 Quote

I spend my whole life frivolously muttering. It's a self-medicating sanity tool. "Grumble, grumble, brumble, burgerflickle..." 1 Quote

Yeah and the two years previous he averaged 800 yds and 2 tds per season. Cook had 1 great season. Let’s not act like he is a bonafide superstar. While Davis may not have the home run capability, as a full time starter he would easily replicate cook’s first two seasons. Especially with this line. Quote

Yeah, that must be why Cook averaged almost half a yard better after contact, had almost a yard better per carry and had 4 runs over 40 yards or more while Williams had zero. All the time while Cook was on the field a lot less and had a lot less touches. Edited August 5 by Walking Tall 1 Quote

Not necessarily better More complete doesn’t necessarilyean better either. But w/e floats your boat id take cook over Williams every day and twice on Sunday 2 Quote

Here's my question - would the money used on Cook actually go towards upgrading the WRs? Or would it go towards more defensive depth, 30+ year old defensive linemen and the like? I think the history of this regime tells you which way that would go. That's why I've come to lean towards paying Cook, I don't think that money is going to be spent better so might as well lock up the one consistently explosive player we have around Josh. 1 Quote
