Also I’m leaning towards Max to IR and Dane on the initial 53 Thank you. Id try and trade him. Someone would take a chance on a recent 3rd round pick. If not, I cut my losses. Bills DL runs deep, so teams will factor that in IMO. McD holds his cards closely regarding injuries. We really need Max, but first NFL game against Baltimore might not be a good idea. Dane scares me. We are going to blitz a lot more. Joe Marino said we are blitzing 25%-35% more now. The team wants to play a lot more man to man. We need athletic CBs-like Max. So the thought of Dane being on an island, 1 on 1, with a heavy blitz I find terrifying. 1 Quote

SoMAn Posted August 21 Posted August 21 I wish there were room somewhere on this roster for Gore. I think he's got a load of potential. I can't imagine he'll be content to be a career practice squad player. Unfortunately for him, he's stuck behind 3 established backs, and the only way he'll see the field is if there's an injury or if he's traded. 1 Quote

Undersized and out matched, he’s made his way solely on grit and intuition. A good running back that can churn out tough yards between the tackles, but I think these are a dime a dozen that come in bigger or faster variations. II think these limitations have him as a PS back for life. He isn’t going to make a squad on special teams. It will always be a long shot for him because of this. As far as his level of content in terms of current role, I don’t think any guy goes into the league thinking they WANT to be a PS player. However once they’ve been around enough, I think these guys learn what the future holds to some degree. A quarter mill a season be on the PS and keep the dream alive ain’t half bad. 2 Quote

I'd add professionalism the list of qualities that have helped him make his way. He really knows the job, works hard and executes his plays. He doesn't try and riff or freelance he does his job, gets up, moves onto the next play and does his job again. I completely agree with the rest of the post. He is your classic PS back. There will always be a guy "more talented" but if say Ray Davis got dinged up and the Bills needed to elevate Gore for a game or two they could be extremely confident in him not letting them down or doing something moronic to lose them a game. 1 Quote

I assume they get the NFL minimum of around $40l/per game if they're elevated. The expanded practice squad numbers has been a great asset for teams like the Bills to allow them to develop their own. Royale with Cheese Posted August 21 Posted August 21 I wonder if Daquan Jones is on the bubble with Deon Walker looking good so far? Quote

We'd "save" 1.8 mill in cap if he is cut, but McD loves his vets. I highly doubt he gets cut, but stranger things have happened. There are 7 DT on the camp roster who will or could make the team. Oliver, Sanders and Walker are set. Jones is next, followed by Carter, the suspended Ogunjobi, and Lodge. If you cut Jones, then your only vet depth is Ogunjobi, who is suspended for 6 games and hasn't exactly shined in camp. 1 Quote

Brianmoorman4jesus Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Why not try Codrington on offense? He certainly isn’t doing much at CB. If the fear is his overall roster value, why not give him a try as a hybrid WR/RB? 1 Quote
Success Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Reading though the comments, I realize I'm a bigger Carter fan than most. Prior to his injury, he looked like a real disruptor in the chances he had last year. Seemed to always be in the backfield when he was in the game. I have high hopes. 1 Quote
