The other day after the first pads practice, and they did a lot of run plays. The D line looked super good! One of the podcaster talking people things said something to the effect of… the D line should look good. It was all run plays and they all know what’s coming so they have an edge. I do think we need to keep in perspective that his is all just practice. The coaches most certainly put players in specific situations just to see how they respond. 2 1 Quote

Spencer Brown-way too tall. Greg Rousseau-way too tall. AJ Epenesa-too tall. Wasn't Jason Peters 6'4? I would not want any lineman over 6'5 period. And preferably a little shorter. Remember Jim Ritcher from years back? He was maybe 6'1 I believe and was a hell of a guard. When Jim Ritcher played offensive linemen were <300 lbs… 😂 Quote

I agree that Brown is way too tall to play OG or OC, but his build is perfect for RT. Jonathan Ogden is an inch taller than Spencer, and he's one of the best to play OT. Yea height and consequent length is helpful outside - at tackle and edge. Where I do think @Paup 1995MVP has a bit of a point is on the interior it can be disadvantage because low man wins really counts inside. That said, David Edwards is a big man and he has been a good NFL guard in his career both here an with the Rams. 1 Quote

Walker is massive but has the chops to penetrate. Agree. The Bills brought in Ryan Nielsen who likes to use a lot of stunts and wants to have mobile penetrators, not stationary boulders that plug up the middle. The picked up three DTs in free agency and the draft and not one is a "true 1 tech." They are 3's who can play 1. They are talking about Carter as a 3 who can play 1. So, either they just couldn't find any true 1 techniques or they decided that that is not what they want. I think with that many selections, it has to be the latter. The tea leaves are suggesting that they want to attack, attack, attack...which I would love to see. Also, the Bills were one of the best in the league in getting pressure but it did not translate into sacks. They were killed by quick passes. One way to combat that is with better press DB coverage, but the other is by having rushing linemen get their hands up. When they're all over 6'5, it can be hard for a QB like Tua to get a quick pass off. 2 Quote

Defenses are ahead of offenses at this point and the offensive line has been banged up (Spencer Brown and Alec Anderson banged up Dawkins has had a lot of vet rest too). I would be more concerned if the defensive line was looking good... 4 hours ago, WhitewalkerInPhilly said: I am officially a bit disappointed with Landon Jackson. Landon Jackson was in my mind at best gonna take the Smoot role of a backend rotation DE. Bosa and Groot are the starters AJE is the key rotation player and Hochet/Solomon/Jackson will compete for the remaining snaps. I know we all want rookies to come in and dominate but sometimes they need to marinate for a year or two. 1 Quote

Still feel one of the issues was not keeping LBS clean against the run. But the other side is. If the penetrators are not getting home enough and quickly , the back end is doomed. Was hoping they would tweak the scheme towards the immovable one tech who demands doubles on the run downs . Honestly the Defense was the weakness at the end of the day last year. Get those hands up in the passing lanes if you cant get to the QB 110% Quote
