My top 5 observations were: - Coleman had a real nice day with zero drops, going up the ladder for the easy win on a few passes, and best of all, getting some separation at the top of his routes with some burst on a few. - Bass was 3 for 7 on a series of 47 yd fg’s. Sure it was in the rain, but no bueno. I’m still confident in him after his comeback last season, for now. - Milano sniffs out run plays at a very high rate. Very good read and react moments out there has him living in the backfield - Shavers made plays all morning, and was inserted with the 1’s more than expected ( Samuel with a DNP helped). Great hands and solid routes. Felt terrible when he went down with an ankle related injury on the absolute last play of practice. - Lorax was at practice today, and looks like he could still step on to the field! He and his son were out there. He signed a boatload of autographs and made his way into the practice field and could be seen coaching up some of the defensive players. Love that guy Its nice that people who attend a particular practice are able to give their first hand impressions. In addition, due to all the training camp impressions, I love the idea as it’s broken up day by day as the overall camp will get so long, it will be unlikely to keep reading an overall thread given the length of camp and ongoing posts. Whatever the mods want, but one central camp thread per day makes sense and keep concise. Whatever the mods want. 2 Quote

Keon has that capability - he flashed before. And it is not a high percentage play to be honest. But there are times that is the ONLY play available, espectially playing against a good defensive team in the playoff. We need that play to get to 50% completion level. 2 1 Quote

I'd not attach the word ghost to Mack Hollins for what he contributed last year. He became an important part of the Bills offense, especially in downfield blocking that average fan does not pay much attention to. Mack has his limitations. OBD certainly wants Keon to do what Mack was giving the Bills last year and more. Let's see. 3 1 Quote

JerseyBills Posted Sunday at 07:15 PM Posted Sunday at 07:15 PM The depth is outstanding!! This is SB material, this is , imo, what Beane has been lacking and phenomenal that he learned and adjusted 1 Quote

NCB Taron Johnson had a vet rest day." Why wouldn't they say that both had veteran rest days? There's a message in there… Sitting out healthy on a vet rest day is quite different than sitting out die to leg soreness. There’s no message there, you’re reading something into nothing. All it means is Moore would have gone today if not for the leg soreness where Taron got the day off for no reason other than an older vet rest day. 1 1 Quote

First to get called up for injuries or an IR with a WR. If his ankle heals okay and fairly quickly, I don't see that changing. Especially with Shenault on the NFI list. The rest of the WR group (with the exception of the unknown Prather) are just PS hopefuls. At least that is how I see it. 1 Quote

But people need to relax on Mack Hollins. Some of the podcast guys are so overly worried about losing him at times. Before we got Amari Cooper and his presence (not really his ability) opened things up.. we were in dire straits trying to throw the ball down the field to Hollins. Josh and Mack found their chemistry after that, but while we may need to replace his blocking in other ways (Hawes, Coleman, Anderson, Gilliam etc), Palmer and Moore are both (on paper) more talented WR’s than Hollins and, most importantly, both give us what JA loves and we didn’t have last year.. separation. 3 Quote

I just his goal is to make an nfl 53 man roster, either ours or someone else’s. Still possible if he can impress in preseason, but an ankle injury will likely slow him some. Quote

I've been wanting the Bills to keep 6 WRs but I'm not going to hope anymore. Ha. I hear you about him wanting a full-time job. If he can hold out for one more year, he has a good shot at WR5 next year. Moore on a 1-year contract and big money and little dead cap with Samuel. His PS skills sure doesn't hurt either. 1 Quote

However doesn't sound like either of them are performing as well as you'd hope. Tre seems to be having the better camp of the two, but he's also too frequently getting mentioned as the CB that got beat on a given play; compare that to Benford where his name almost never comes up (in a good way). Hairston by early reports is struggling quite a bit to be honest. WRs at every level of the depth chart seem to be winning reps against him in team drills. Obviously still very very early in his career but he's not progressing as quickly as I'd hoped, at least not yet. 1 2 Quote

It might be a bit too early to judge Hairston’s progress especially based on random training camp reports and not visual evidence. Tre actually had some helpful comments on this subject in his interview Friday to the effect that much that needs to be learned by these rookies that can only be learned by repetitions on the field. It is a huge adjustment from college. He was talking specifically about Hairston but I am sure it applies to all of them. Let’s see where. He is in three weeks time. 2 Quote
