After seeing the beach pic, I thought he actually looked leaner than he did last season. He has pretty chubby last year, I expected it to be worse.

Don't get me wrong, I hope he stays fat. But I expect he'll drop 5-10 lbs between now & Week 1.

That offense has been mostly bare of weapons the past two years.  Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice were out almost all of last year.  Kelce is on his last legs.  Reid is scheming guys open but they have lacked real threats.

If Rice is healthy this year, Mahomes play will bounce back.  Which is bad news for us.

I guess.

JA led an Offense with a good, not great (yet), slot WR as our WR1 and the decoy corpse of Amari Cooper opening things up for a raw rookie and Mack Hollins.

Our top TE was severely injured in both legs apparently.

Josh won MVP and our Offense was elite.

Better shape than he has been in.  Look at Brady even Allen do not have body builder physique. Little shorter than both so Mahomes is going to have to eat to stay at his weight.

in all seriousness, looking at pictures of Josh Allen shirtless on Google… He has slimmed down over the years. He used to be much chubbier

If that's fat, I'm cooked.

Our society has become so obese on average that people who are fat are now just given cute names like “dad bod”. In the 50’s, those dad bods would have been seen as just “fat”.

"Vacation photos are popping up of Patrick Mahomes, and he's fat. I'm gonna say it, and I'm gonna tell you the truth, that’s why you hit the play button, he's an embarrassment," he said. "You're a $500 million quarterback, you've made all these comments in the offseason that ‘We're gonna do our talking on the field, we got our butts kicked in the Super Bowl, we're coming back with a vengeance.’ Dude, you're fat. Your belly would be fat at my pool, hanging out with us, 60 year olds. My skin is flabbier than yours, I get it. Stop. Stop the fast food. Do a sit-up. Do something.

Josh aint exactly a getting a Victorias Secret cover himself either.  I guarantee they are both freaking absolute units under that layer(s) of fat.  Theres probably something to staying healthy with the few extra pounds on their frame.  You cant exactly add 15-20 clean pounds (muscle) to their frames in an off-season or even a career.  Can a guy who never stepped in a gym before get some "quick" (1-2years) gains like that?  Sure... but these guys are physical specimen.

Hypothesis:

Jacked + 15-20lbs Fat > Just Jacked and 15-20 lbs lighter

These guys are so heavily outweighed by every guy on the DL and 50%+ of LB's.  Force = Mass x Acceleration  , seems to sort of tell the story here

Agreed. He was definitely heavier last year, I was expecting a brutal photo, and it couldn't be further from that

He’s probably lifting heavy. He’ll cut down by opening day. If he were like mid-30s I’d agree with the concern.

Absolutely could be bulking trying to slab on some muscle, and he'd have time to clean up the fat. Can't gain muscle in a deficit, and once you get to a certain level of ripped, every ounce of muscle gets harder to slab on. Easier/more productive to lift hard, pound ridiculous calories (to get your body to respond and push past plateau) and then peel back the layers.

Look around bodybuilders in the offseason. Check out Lee Priest "offseason vs contest" to see the extreme end

I feel like Mahomes always looks like this lately.

It should also be noted that, while incredibly clutch - in part due to his guys/coaches stepping up around him, he’s very clearly been QB4, at most, behind Allen, Jackson and Burrow in recent years.

In his defense, those guys have more time to work out in the offseason that he does.
