2 years ago he had over 4000 yards and 28 TDs. You’re WAY underrating Baker. He’s a top 10 QB. He’s not in the Tua/Lawrence/Kyler tier. He’s in the group with guys like Herbert, Stafford, Stroud, Dak and Goff.

We all own it when we suggest something controversial. You threw him out in a conversation with guys that aren’t on his level. You’ve since been bombarded with numbers as to why he doesn’t belong there. If you’re lower on Baker than most, fine. Geno

Purdy

Tua

Baker

Lawrence

Watson. They are still paying him.  Then  Kyler

To answer the question, I think Tua, Lawrence and Darnold are the guys that would qualify. It’s tough to want to move on from them but you don’t win because of them IMO. 

Hell Baker in playoff games has been really solid too. Dalton never has had one game as good as what Baker has done postseason.

It absolutely is!! That’s why people have been on you. He had 4500 yards and 41 TDs!! The year before he had over 4000 yards and 28 TDs. That’s not, “I wonder if we should pay this guy” money. That’s, “we have one of the best QBs in football” territory. He’s been good in the playoffs too. 
 

To be clear, I am not suggesting that I’d take Baker over Mahomes. This is just some perspective:

Lots of folks are saying they wouldn’t pay the Dak/Lawrence tier.

 

Which is why I included Baker. Because he’s a tier above. IMO.

I dont even consider many of the other guys mentioned here since they are more rentals (Geno, Darnold) than long-term, mega-million signed ("Franchise") QBs.

 

I'd put Dak right behind them. He's better than them, but paid much higher.

 

Then Purdy right behind Dak.

 

I can put Kyler on that list too, but at least I've seen flashes from him.

 

Baker deserves way more respect and should be no where near this list. I'm not even a big fan, and I was a disbeliever when he came out. But I'll never forget that Rams win he pulled off after having joined the team merely 48 hours earlier. And dude has been solid all around. Cleveland messed that up and did him dirty (surprise, surprise).

Dak Prescott is a way better Quarterback than Kyler Murray. The comparison is so ridiculous it isn't close.

Haven't read every page but if Kyler Murray hasn't been discussed for this award he should be in the running.  

 

In contrast Baker took Cleveland to the playoffs and won and that alone should mean something.  Lost to the Chiefs.  Later beat the Eagles in the playoffs with a different team.  Baker has been to the playoffs and won a few.  Not saying he's the greatest but he certainly isn't the worst.
