Has to be a top 5 sitcom all time. What an absolute all time cast and the writing was top notch. Looking back it’s kind of hard to believe ‘Cheers’ was almost cancelled. It bombed in the ratings in its first season. Quote

Captain Hindsight Posted yesterday at 04:33 PM Posted yesterday at 04:33 PM (edited) My wife and I watched Cheers during lockdown in 2020. When it seemed like the world was crazy, it was a nice way to pass the time and laugh a little. Norm was my favorite character and George Wendt was a great person. This one hurts Edited yesterday at 04:33 PM by Captain Hindsight Quote

Neither would have made it past the Christmas break today. Shows that aren't immediate hits are canceled. Quote

Could you imagine shows like All in the Family, The Jeffersons, and Sanford and Son in today's world. All three were great shows but they wouldn't last in today's world. TV shows back then were much better than today. IMHO. 2 Quote
