That is incredibly hard to believe.  The early stuff is probably a bit better than the later stuff so that would have been a huge mistake.

My wife and I watched Cheers during lockdown in 2020. When it seemed like the world was crazy, it was a nice way to pass the time and laugh a little. Norm was my favorite character and George Wendt was a great person. This one hurts

Neither would have made it past the Christmas break today. Shows that aren't immediate hits are canceled.

Could you imagine shows like All in the Family, The Jeffersons, and Sanford and Son in today's world. All three were great shows but they wouldn't last in today's world. TV shows back then were much better than today. IMHO.
