Daboll isn’t here anymore so I’d wager his return depends on whether or not Josh goes to bat for him.

There you go. The Giants win with him.

If it's a vet minimum training camp/pre-season deal to compete at WR with the idea that he can take the Mack Hollins role then I really don't see why the Bills wouldn't kick the tires so to speak? BUT is he a willing and capable ST player? Hollins was an ST ace and a very good blocker with some limited "pop" as a WR. Gabe is roughly as good a blocker and a better WR but if Gabe can't at least be a capable ST player (doesn't need to be an "ace" just a contributor) then it is hard to see him being able to make the roster just as a WR 4/5 when there's a crowded field there.

Frankly, Mack Hollins was way better in that Mack Hollins role than Gabe, Hollins has better hands, and was more clutch to boot in our system, Gabe is worn out, constantly injured and is “incomplete”  in something around 50% of his targets with both the teams he played for, why on gods green earth would we want to sign this guy, nuthin but luv for an ex Bills player, but…,

Where do you put him on this roster? Who is he better than?

He maybe be better than everyone except Shakir.

But the beauty of everybody eats is that he doesn’t have to be a focal point

Moore is more of a slot like seemingly all our guys.  We wouldn’t need Gabe to be a #2, but he would add that outside vertical presence we are lacking.

Keon and Khalil can lock down the rest... have you seen Moore's 2024 highlights? He looks like he can more than handle outside.

He's worthless to Josh if he can't be on the same page with him out there when it counts. I'm good.

Yep.

Allen was statistically at his worst when throwing to Gabe.

Why? He’s an actual better version of Mack Hollins, good in the locker room, and certainly not good enough to demand a high target share.

He ain’t perfect but no one on the Bills is either.

I think his departure was a not inconsequential piece of Josh going from turnover king to cleanest player in the league

I don’t know how you get there.

between he’s not as good as Mack Hollins (which is crazy), I think you’re way off base.

He was a solid WR3 that looked better with Josh and got paid. Mack Hollins was a solid WR5 that looked better with Josh.

Mack Hollins has the clutch gene.

Gabe Davis does not.

Do we think Mack was more clutch in 2024 vs the Chiefs than Gabe in 2021?

I feel like having 200 yards and 4 TDs against your rivals, including the go ahead TD with 13 seconds is pretty clutch.

That's true. The place that immediately jumps out to me is Vegas who have basically zero established outside receivers.

They drafted Bech and Thornton and already have Meyers on the roster.  Not saying they wouldn't take a swing on Davis but considering they have Bowers at TE they have pass catchers on the roster now.  I personally think Davis would be better suited here now then when the offense was so WR centric.  Our outside pass catchers really are there to block and win outside when teams come out of shell coverage.  Given that injuries happen I could see him being the next guy up after Palmer and Coleman.  Shakir, Kincaid, and the RB's would get the bulk of the targets and Davis (if he's out there) would get the posts, sails, and deep shots.

When Gave was a WR4 back in 2020 he did well. If he accepted that role, he would at least be someone who could play outside for us. Won’t love it or hate it if he is back on a cheap 1 year deal.

I don't think he fits the style the Bills are playing. The Bills want guys who can play multiple positions are quick and shifty.

I don't think he's the guy.
